2022: A big year for Banfield and pets

Can you believe 2022 is almost over? We can’t. This year flew by, but as we reflect on 2022, we realize just how much happened over the past 12 months.

Below are some highlights from an eventful year.

Banfield in numbers

  • 1,000 teens were reached during the Boys and Girls Club of America National Keystone Leadership Conference as part of Banfield’s investment in diversifying the veterinary profession.
  • 3,000 vulnerable pets were helped through free preventive care clinics or were helped through no-cost or discounted veterinary services in our hospitals.
  • 100,000 youth were inspired and educated about veterinary careers through our associate-led Banfield Pet Academy.
  • 150,000,000 pet visits since 2000. Yep, you read that right. In May of 2022 we had our 150 millionth pet visit since we began tracking this data in 2000.

Banfield in the community

  • In February, we reached out to community leaders at Banfield, VCA, BluePearl, and Antech Diagnostics to discuss why uplifting the Black veterinary community is important.
  • In May, we welcomed the inaugural class of our NextVet Internship Program, which included 15 students with an extraordinary drive and passion for pets. Each student took part in a paid opportunity of a lifetime in Banfield hospitals across eight American cities.
  • In September, we participated in a Portland-area Stand Down where our associates provided free vaccines, nail trims, and examinations for furry companions of vulnerable veterans.
  • In September and October, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month at Banfield through associate-led events, including cooking classes, lotería, and panel discussions.
