We’ve got even cooler news! 

Our brand-new Senior Care Optimum Wellness Plans just won Overall Health Product of the Year at the Pet Innovation Awards, an international program that honors innovation and recognizes excellence, hard work, and success in the petcare industry.

Here’s a little backstory on our Senior Care Optimum Wellness Plans. 

Up until now, our OWPs were tailored for puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats. While our dog and cat OWPs included wonderful services for our senior patients, we realized that senior pets have a few more unique needs. Informed by industry best practices, our Senior Care and Senior Care Plus Optimum Wellness Plans were born.

Our Senior Care OWPs offer comprehensive exams, vaccinations, and Banfield’s more in-depth diagnostic testing, helping monitor changes in organ function and overall physical health. Our Senior Care Plus plan also adds a professional dental cleaning to combat dental disease, a common yet overlooked condition among senior pets.

Older pets are at increased risk for chronic conditions like kidney disease, thyroid issues, cardiac issues, and diabetes. Our Senior Care OWPs include screenings for these illnesses and bundle services to provide high-quality preventive care for aging pets. Adult and senior pets can take advantage of the diagnostic tests offered in our Senior Care OWPs, including blood work, X-rays, urine testing, blood pressure monitoring, and an electrocardiogram (EKG).

All of our OWPs include unlimited office visits; access to Pet Chat™, our 24/7 text-based veterinary advice service; and digital access to pet medical records, payment information, and appointment scheduling via our website or app.** Clients also benefit from discounts on eligible products and services, convenient AutoShip options, and access to care across our 1,000 hospitals.
