What is virtual petcare?

Banfield virtual petcare offers convenient ways to connect with veterinary professionals from wherever you are with virtual office visits, 24/7 access to Pet Chat™ for pet health guidance, and Pet Wellness 1:1 consultations that provide personalized nutrition support.

Whether you have a question about your pet’s health, need virtual care between appointments, or want expert advice on wellness for your pet, Banfield’s virtual petcare is here for you and your pet.

24/7 Pet Chat

Our 24/7 Pet Chat gives Optimum Wellness Plan members access to general pet health advice from a veterinary professional, anytime and from almost everywhere. (Pet Chat is not available in all states.) Clients can access Pet Chat through MyBanfield or the Banfield app and get guidance on new symptoms, everyday health questions, and whether your pet needs to go into the veterinary office. Support is available day or night and helps clients stay informed and connected to a veterinary professional.

Virtual Visits

Virtual Visits give clients a convenient way to connect with their veterinary team from home or wherever they are. Through scheduled video appointments with an in-state provider, clients can discuss their pet’s health, ask questions, review concerns, and receive guidance on next steps without an in-person visit. The provider can even perform limited physical exams or evaluations after a neuter or spay. Virtual Visits are meant to complement in-hospital care, making it easier to stay connected to your pet’s veterinary team. Optimum Wellness Plans include two Virtual Visits each year.

Pet Wellness 1:1

Pet Wellness 1:1 is an opportunity for clients to connect one-on-one with a trained petcare advisor on their pet’s nutrition and weight management through an individual phone coaching session. These coaching sessions are available twice a year as part of an Optimum Wellness Plan.
