Yadkin Park Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic was established in 1987 and by offering quality care, state of the art medicine and surgery by compassionate doctors and staff, we quickly grew. To better serve our patients, in January of 2015 we moved into a new larger building located at 305 Commerce Avenue near Wal-Mart and the Martin Dog Park in Southern Pines, NC. We partnered with Banfield Pet Hospital in April 2019 as the first Community Hospital in North Carolina and we are now able to offer a wide option of Optimum Wellness Plans for continued quality care, as well as new updated equipment. Dr. Daniel Nordland
Chief of Staff
Dr. Nordland has practiced small animal veterinary medicine in Southern Pines, NC since 1992. He graduated from NCSU College of Veterinary, where he received multiple honors and scholarships, including the highest grade point average in his graduating class. Dr. Nordland previously worked in the Moore County swine industry for 9 years after receiving his bachelor degrees in animal and dairy husbandry from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture. He chose small animal medicine due to his love for his own pets and the satisfaction he derived from giving individualized care to these pets. Dr. Nordland loves what he does in all respects. However, his favorite areas of medicine include orthopedic surgery, soft-tissue surgery, and internal medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Jenny B. Powers
Veterinarian
Dr. Powers has practiced full-time at Yadkin Park Animal Hospital since graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine at NC State University in 1995. She loves the everyday excitement and variety of practicing veterinary medicine. Along with caring for pets and their people, Dr. Powers enjoys internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, dermatology, dentistry, and pocket pet medicine. A native of Roanoke, Virginia with a biology degree from Meredith College, Dr. Powers has a research background in pharmaceuticals, reproductive immunology, and swine infectious diseases, and was an aviculture intern at the International Crane Foundation. She lives in Chatham County with her husband, 2 cats and 10 chickens.

Dr. Megan Mack Mc Nair
Veterinarian
Dr. Mack Mc Nair, also known as "Dr. Mack", comes to Yadkin Park Animal Hospital from Richmond County. She graduated from NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine and she has twenty years of experience as a small animal veterinarian. Her special interest is soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Bob Wagner
Veterinarian
Dr. Wagner received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Sonoma State University in Sonoma, California. He then went to the University of Saskatchewan, W.C.V.M. for further graduate studies. While there, he did some teaching and research in the veterinary microbiology department concentrating on viral diseases. Choosing then to enter veterinary medicine, he graduated in 1977. He worked in a mixed practice in Kelowna BC, Canada for five years, and then moved back to his home state and town to open the Glen Ellen Veterinary Hospital in 1983. After enjoying over thirty years of private practice, he sold the practice and moved to North Carolina in 2013. Dr. Wagner enjoys meeting people and their pets, and keeping furry friends healthy. A passion for golf makes Pinehurst a perfect place to live with his wife, Pam, and their Scottish terrier, Bette.
