Banfield employee and dog

the other staff that loves your pets

When people think of veterinary hospitals, the first staff member they probably think of is the veterinarian. It makes sense — most people make an appointment to see the vet. And while the vet is indeed an important part of the hospital, so are the other members of the team. Each of these staff members are invested in the care and well-being of you and your pet. Below we’ll discuss who else works at Banfield vet hospitals, what their roles are, and how they’re here for you.

Pet Care Assistant

At Banfield, our helpful Pet Care Assistants assist with a variety of tasks that support both the staff and your favorite fuzzball. They may perform tasks such as prepping exam rooms for the vet or vet tech, or holding pets during examination. They may exercise animals that are staying at the hospital or bathe them. Pet Care Assistants also ensure that the hospital is sparkling clean and orderly. In other words, they’re absolutely essential to the team.

Vet Techs and Vet Assistants

Vet Technicians provide a number of important duties to the hospital including performing exams and measuring vital signs, giving vaccinations or medicines, prepping animals for surgery or procedures, and educating clients. VTs have college training, passed a credentialing exam, and may have state licensure or certification. VAs have similar duties as VTs and both assist veterinarians in ensuring that you and your pet get the care and communication you need for your visit, and the veterinarians rely on these important staff members for support.

Client Service Coordinator

When you visit a Banfield, a Client Service Coordinator is most likely the friendly face you see when you check in. CSCs are responsible for scheduling and “the flow” of clients and pets through the hospital, and establish good communication between the client and the team. They also make certain that you and your pet are greeted and treated in a happy and welcoming way.

As you can see, there are many important roles at Banfield veterinary hospitals, all designed to make sure clients and their furry friends receive quality and supportive care. We’re here for love, health, and happiness!
