As the calendar turns over and the new year gets started with high hopes and good spirits, we wanted to take a moment to look back at three great petcare stories from Banfield Pet Hospital locations in 2020.

Whatever it takes

A client who had recently completed chemotherapy needed to bring her pet in for an appointment at our Savannah, Georgia, location, but was nervous about exposing her immunocompromised system during COVID-19. The team at this high-volume hospital did everything it could to help protect their client, while providing essential care to her pet. A Banfield associate met the client at her car and had her stay there throughout the duration of her pet’s visit, so she could avoid any contact with other associates or clients.

Quick relief for itchy Bosley

A longtime Optimum Wellness Plan® client accessed Vet Chat™ for quick guidance on how best to help her 13-year-old dog, Bosley, who had some mild redness and itchy skin on one of his hindlimbs. “The veterinarian was able to do a few assessments and help me understand the options,” the client shared. She then called the Banfield Conroe, Texas hospital team, which scheduled Bosley for an appointment to get relief. "We got in right away and the team was so sweet,” said the client. “Dr. Murray explained everything really well and I didn’t feel like we had any questions when leaving about what to look out for with Bosley once we got home.”

Super thankful for Ace and Dr. Mac

A Banfield client sent us this awesome note about Banfield’s Dr. Leland McLaughlin (“Dr. Mac”) in Charlotte, North Carolina: “I was very nervous to come in because I am a high-risk person regarding this coronavirus and Dr. Mac actually came to my car to get my dog... in the hard rain! Thank him for the care provided for my dog Ace. I truly appreciate him thinking of me and giving me his time like he did. I am so thankful to have a vet like Dr. Mac and his team. His kindness is immensely important to me and Ace. Dr. Mac will always have my eternal gratitude!! Dr. Mac is one of a kind... awesome! I think I will send him a gift from Ace so he will know just how important he is to us!”
