    Whether you’re a dog family, cat lover, or pocket pet fanatic, the Banfield Pet Hospital on Capitol Hill provides quality health care your pet needs. We are a full service veterinary hospital and offer head-to-tail services for your pet to help keep them right where they belong, by your side.

    Located just minutes from downtown Seattle, this Banfield location is above the QFC on Broadway and Pike St. on Capitol Hill. We offer services including parasite control, vaccinations, internal medicine, and more. We also provide services for your pocket pet, bird or reptile, please call for further information and scheduling.

    We always accept new patients and same day access appointments may be available. We also offer drop off appointments for your convenience. Whenever possible, please call ahead to facilitate the coordination of the highest quality service possible.

    Dr. Stacie Smith

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Smith graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She worked as an Equine Veterinarian for 3 years before joining the Banfield family in 2010. Dr. Smith is the Chief of Staff of the Lynnwood and Capitol Hill locations and enjoys coaching and training other doctors. She is certified in acupuncture, and is very passionate about surgery and building lasting relationships with her clients and patients.     Dr. Rebecaa Iutzi


    Dr. Iutzi has been practicing for 2 years and joined the Banfield family just before Christmas of 2014. She is a recent graduate of The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Dr. Iutzi also focused her studies on small animals and exotics, and is looking forward to seeing your small mammals & reptiles. At home she is constantly accompanied by Zephyr, her very talented Keeshond and her rat pack, Frank, Sammy & Dean.     Dr. Darlene DeGhetto


    Dr. DeGhetto was born and raised in northern New Jersey. She attended Seton Hall University, then moved to Colorado, where she graduated from the Veterinary school at Colorado State University. She completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at VCA in West Los Angeles, then spent several years doing field research on sea lions and fur seals in Alaska, Washington and California. After settling down in Washington, she worked at a mixed animal practice for a year, then moved to PAWS in Lynnwood to practice wildlife rehabilitation medicine and companion animal shelter medicine. Dr. DeGhetto has a special interest in gerontology and care of the aging pet, and exotic animal medicine. She lives in Seattle with her husband, 3 children (teenagers!), 3 small, adorable pets and an 18-year-old box turtle named Uguay. More Details >>

    Dr. Suzanne Byrd


    Dr. Suzanne Byrd graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2009. She has lived in many places, but considers Washington and Hawaii to be home. She worked at the Banfield in Federal Way, WA for about 4 years, then was distracted by a shiny object for a while. She is now back at the Capitol Hill location and loves it!     Leah Rombro

    Practice Manager

    Leah is our Practice Manager, and cross trained to be a Client Service Coordinator and Veterinary Assistant. She has been with Banfield for almost 9 years and has worked at several other locations in Washington. Leah has lived in Georgia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, but now calls Seattle home. She is originally from Baltimore and grew up on a farm that had horses, goats, and pigs. Leah attended Savannah College of Art & Design and has her associates degrees in graphic design as well as arts & science. She is currently working on her BSA in social science and medical anthropology at University of Washington. Leah loves to travel and has visited all over the U.S., UK, the Caribbean and Central America and most recently back packed through Ecuador. She has a lovable little Westie named Chloe and 3 cats, Sadie People Face, Jaboa Love Muffin Top, and Bette Davis Eyes. Leah loves cooking, reading, and is a cult movie guru. More Details >>

    Dasha Ottesen

    Shift Lead

    Dasha is the newest team member to join the Capitol Hill family. She is a full-time Client Service Coordinator, cross trained as a Veterinary Assistant, and Hospital Shift Lead, and has been with Banfield for almost 4 years. She worked at the Daly City location for 3 1/2 years and moved to Seattle from San Francisco in March with her husband. Dasha has 4 cats, Roland, Guenhwyvar, Lucius, and Junia, and a big cuddly German Shepherd named Cassius. Don't let the scrubs fool you, she loves fashion and all things related to hair and make up.     William Wickwire

    Veterinary Technician

    William is not only a Licensed Veterinary Technician, but also a Veteran. He joined the Army in 1991 and attended the U.S. Army Animal Care Course, working in the veterinary field for almost 25 years. He worked with military working dogs during his time in the Army. William is also a certified pet trainer through Penn Foster and worked as a PetSmart trainer for two years. He is very passionate about animal behavior and nutrition. William has lived in Hawaii, California, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, loves to read, and sew all kinds of fun things for his nieces and nephews. He's been part of the Banfield family for almost a year and is currently on the hunt for a new puppy to bring home. More Details >>

    Alexandra Ross

    Veterinary Technician

    Alex received her Associate of Applied Science degree with honors from Pima Medical Institute. She's been licensed as a Veterinary Technician since 2012 and has been with Banfield for almost 3 years. Some clients may recognize her from our Aurora location and has been with Capitol Hill since it opened. Born and raised in Seattle, she lived in Tampa Bay, Florida for 16 years but felt so homesick, she had to come back.     Gabby Bueno

    Veterinary Technician

    Gabrielle graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2016 and plans to go back to school some day to further her education in veterinary medicine. Gabrielle was born and raised in Olympia, WA and recently moved to Seattle to pursue tech school. Although Gabrielle has lived here her whole life, she plans on moving to Ecuador with her husband to be with family in the next few years. She has traveled to France, Ecuador, New York, and Washington D.C. and has plans on expanding her travels in the future. Gabrielle has been in the vet field for 5 years but is a brand new licensed technician. She has two dogs named Tootie and Butter, and one cat named Philip.     Cassandra Armstrong

    Veterinary Assistant

    Cassie has been with Banfield for almost a year and plans to continue her education by becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She is from Wisconsin and has since lived in Minnesota and all over Washington state, but now lives in Capitol Hill. She is passionate about cats and has two at home, Little Eevee Cat and Vivicat A.     Marlys Larson

    Veterinary Assistant

    Marlys has been with Banfield for almost a year and attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, majoring in microbiology. She also worked as a biomedical researcher for the Center for Infectious Disease Research, and hopes to attend veterinary school in the fall of 2017. Marlys was born in China and raised in Seattle. She loves traveling, has been on safari in Tanzania, prayed with Buddhist monks in Tibet, and has explored ancient ruins in Greece! She has a 2-year-old cat named Panda who loves cuddles and snuggles. Marlys also loves to read, draw, and loves to play Rugby! She's even been to nationals! More Details >>

    Gloria Orr

    Veterinary Assistant

    Gloria has been with Banfield for almost 4 years, and a Client Service Coordinator and a Veterinary Assistant at the Aurora, Lacey, and now Capitol Hill locations. She has lived all over the place! From California to Colorado to Hawaii, but she now calls Seattle home. Gloria has also traveled across the U.S. from coast to coast. She makes homemade soaps and essential oils, loves being outdoors biking and hiking, loves wood burning, and going to shows and supporting the local metal and punk scenes.
