Dr. Shaman grew up in Japan and speaks English and Japanese fluently. She is a 2014 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and completed her undergraduate education at Tufts University and the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Dr. Shaman has master's degree in animals and public policy from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. She worked in Columbus, Ohio at a small animal practice for one year before moving to Washington. During her free time, Dr. Shaman enjoys going to the movies, hiking, traveling and spending time with her "extended family including a dachshund, 4 cats, 2 hamsters and 5 fancy goldfish.

Dr. Jennifer Nishimura was born and raised in Honolulu and attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, graduating in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in zoology. She worked for 6 months as a Lab Assistant before deciding veterinary medicine was her calling, and then as a Veterinary Assistant in private practice for 3 years. Dr. Nishimura attended the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM in 2014. Her professional interests include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, Dr. Nishimura likes to read, write short stories, cook, and run. She currently lives with a tuxedo cat named Embry.
