    Dr. Christina Bailey

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Bailey has been with Banfield for over 7 years in a leadership role, but just accepted a position as Chief of Staff at the end of 2017. She graduated in 2006 from St. George's University in Grenada and then finished her degree at Virginia Tech. Dr. Bailey is our resident cat lady - they all love her and she seems to understand them intrinsically! At home, she has an orange tabby named Gus Gus.     Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Salaj began her career with Banfield in October 2017. She completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech and attended St. George's University in Grenada for her DVM. Dr. Salaj has 2 Labrador retrievers, Bella and Riley, and a German shepherd named Kenzie. In her free time, she enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy books, and playing World of Warcraft.     Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Susan Ries Valashinas joined Banfield in 2002 upon graduating from NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Valashinas is proficient at many soft tissue surgeries and enjoys the challenges that surgery brings! She grew up in Williamsburg, VA and has recently moved back to the area to be near family. Dr. Valashinas lives with her husband, son, and their two dogs, a beagle named Faith, and a standard poodle puppy named Gerry. More Details >>

    Practice Manager

    Tracy joined the Williamsburg Banfield in September 2015, bringing with her 2 decades of customer service and management experience. She has a passion for hiring and training a strong, compassionate team, all focused on keeping pets healthy so their owners can love them longer. Tracy welcomes your feedback or concerns about anything relating to the hospital. Tracy shares a home with her husband, her 7-year-old daughter, a 3-year-old golden retriever named Phoenix, a 2-year-old rescued yellow Lab named Piper, 2 orange tabby cats, Daniel Tiger and Colby Jack, a gray and white tabby named Duckie, and a rescue Guinea pig named Amadeus!     Veterinary Assistant

    Jessica is new to Banfield, but has been a veterinary assistant for about 10 years, part of which was spent as a veterinary technician with the United States Army. She grew up in Bedford, Massachusetts but now lives in Williamsburg, VA with her husband, their puppy, Tullamore, and 2 cats. Jessica loves to cook and tries out new recipes often. More Details >>


    Veterinary Assistant

    Destine began her career with Banfield in 2017 as a veterinary assistant with several years of experience in private practice. She enjoys assisting our doctors with surgical cases and taking care of hospitalized pets as she is one of our surgery trained pet nurses. In her free time, Destine enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies, and any outdoor activity that keeps her near the water. On the weekends, she teaches country line dancing!     Veterinary Assistant

    Heather started with Banfield in May of 2017 as a veterinary assistant and comes to us with very interesting large animal experience. She was an intern with the Naval Marine Mammal Program and also worked with Sea World's Rescue Division in San Diego. Currently, Heather is finishing a biology degree and plans to continue her education and become a veterinarian. She has a blue heeler puppy name Elias (Eli for short), who is already an Instagram sensation, and a Persian cat named Bentley. More Details >>

    Brianne joined Banfield in February of 2015 as a client service coordinator and quickly became a client favorite smiling face. She was cross trained as a veterinary assistant in 2016 and promoted to the position shortly thereafter.     Stephanie started as a client service coordinator with Banfield in the Summer of 2017 but prior to that, all of her family's pets were patients at Banfield! This made her the perfect choice when a position opened up at the hospital. Stephanie is passionate about ALL kinds of animals and has a kitten, a corn snake, and two dogs at home.     Lauren joined Banfield as a client service coordinator in Summer of 2016. She and her family have moved around a lot and lived in a lot of interesting places. Lauren has a passion for art and all things creative, and enjoys spending time with her cat, Maggie, whom she rescued while attending a volunteer event at Isle of Wight Animal Shelter.     Ashley joined Banfield last year as a client service coordinator, and comes to us from a human medicine and physical therapy center. She began the Veterinary Technician program through Penn Foster this year! Ashley was self-described as "not a dog person" until she found her black Lab, Titan, as a puppy, and fell in love.
