    Dr. Victoria Law

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Law earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she joined the Banfield team and has practiced at numerous Banfield hospitals up and down the east coast as her husband is an active duty Marine. Practicing in various geographic locations has given her great perspective and a variety of experiences that have served her patients and their people well since her promotion to a Chief of Staff. Dr. Law has special interests in preventive medicine and surgery. Outside of work, Dr. Law can be found competing her horses in Eventing or spending time with her husband and their 2 cats, Snitch and Blitz, and their rescue dog, Panda. More Details >>

    Dr. Victoria Derr Castillo

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Derr graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, and went on to complete a veterinary anatomic pathology residency at the University of California, Davis and a post doctorate at the University of California, San Diego. Because of this, Dr. Derr has a special interest in cytology, pathology, and the study of disease processes. She has a dog named Ralphie, a cat named Stromi and outside of work, Dr. Derr is a foodie and enjoys hanging out with her friends. More Details >>

    Dr. Patrick Abernethy

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Abernethy graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, finishing his clinical year at the University of Georgia. He then completed a one year internship at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in small ruminant medicine and surgery. Dr. Abernethy practiced large animal medicine in the Tidewater area for 12 years working on various species of animals including horses, cattle, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, emus, dogs, cats, and the occasional zoo animal. Dr. Abernethy has a special interest in preventive medicine and dentistry. He lives at his farm and currently helps take care of 30+ horses. He also has 12 cats, 4 dogs, 4 ducks, and a chinchilla, and 2 small ponds containing numerous species of fish. Outside of work, Dr. Abernethy enjoys fishing, gardening, landscaping, skeet/target shooting, restoring antique farm tractors, going to the beach/mountains, playing fetch with his 2 Labradors, and collecting old duck decoys.
