    The Sterling Banfield Pet Hospital focuses in small animal medicine, preventive care, reptile and small mammal exotic medicine, avian wing and beak trimmings, and making every client feel like part of our Banfield family. 
     
    You can also visit our online pet health library for help with pet health challenges at home. All the pet health articles in our library are written by Banfield experts and include a variety of species and topics. These pet health articles are a valuable resource for all pet owners.
     
    We welcome new pet patients and same day access appointments may be available. When you visit our office, ask our staff about our Optimum Wellness Plans® and how they can help you manage pet health care costs.

    Dr. Crystal Bowman

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Bowman is originally from the Jersey Shore. She received her veterinary degree from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2010. She then completed a rotating internship followed by a 3 year residency and combined master's program in equine internal medicine at Virginia Tech. She joined the Banfield team in 2014. Dr. Bowman's areas of interest include small animal internal medicine and ophthalmology. She lives in Lovettsville with her husband, David, their daughter, Emma, and their miniature zoo including 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a horse. In her spare time, Dr. Bowman enjoys running marathons, riding her horse, and visiting wineries. More Details >>

    Dr. Megan Dolese

    Veterinarian

    Born in Baton Rouge, LA, Dr. Dolese has been a veterinarian at Sterling since 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science degree as well as her veterinary degree from Louisiana State University. Dr. Dolese specializes in small animal medicine (specifically, soft tissue surgery) and internal medicine. She wanted to be a veterinarian because as a child, she saw her Guinea pig give birth. She thought it was an exciting experience and it immediately made her want to work with animals when she grew up. She lives in Lucketts, VA with her husband, Chris, their daughter, Sydney, and their son, Connor. They share their home with their boxer-pitbull mix, Rajah, and their boxer, Ginger.     Dr. Amber Strege

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Strege has been at Sterling since 2012. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from UVA-Wise and her DVM from Virginia Tech. She currently lives in Ashburn, VA with her husband Brett and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Frankie. Her special interests are preventive care and surgery. She wanted to become a veterinarian because she has always had a love for animals, and was comforted by their unconditional love as a child when times were rough. More Details >>

    Dr. Richard Trisotto

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Trisotto is from New Jersey, and has been with Banfield since 2010 and at the Sterling location since 2013. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and his veterinary degree from St. George's University. He currently lives in Herndon, VA with his wife, Jessica, Butters the pitbull, and their dog, Harper. In his free time, he enjoys playing goalie in ice hockey and soccer, cooking, fun runs, hiking, and traveling. He is also interested in computers and photography. His veterinary specialties are soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, pit bulls, and reptile and small mammal exotic medicine. More Details >>

    Dr. Brittany Wilt

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Wilt, a native and current resident of Lovettsville, VA, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal & poultry sciences from Virginia Tech in 2010 and worked in the animal science industry for a brief period before entering the VA-MD Vet Med Class of 2015. She came to Banfield of Sterling in 2015. Dr. Wilt's veterinary interests are internal medicine and dermatology. She shares her home with her boyfriend, Tom, and her cat, Lilly. In her free time, her hobbies include being outdoors, riding horses, fishing, hiking, and traveling out west. More Details >>

    Dr. Elizabeth Capor

    Veterinarian

    Born in Gaithersburg, MD, Dr. Capor attended Towson University for undergraduate studies, then attended the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech University. She wanted to enter the veterinary field ever since she was a little girl. Being able to take care of animals was always a lifelong goal. Her medical interests include imaging and nutrition. Now residing in Haymarket, Dr. Capor shares her home with her husband, Daniel, her cats, Christian and Lana, and her dogs, Cesare and Charlotte. Her hobbies include traveling, reading and relaxing with her husband, and showing her horses, Livy, Allie, Henley, and Reagan. More Details >>

    Dr. Mark Robison

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Robison joined Banfield in 2017. From St. George, Utah, Dr. Robison attended Utah State University where he received his bachelor's degree. Always an animal lover and wanting to problem solve to help pets live better and longer lives, he went on to veterinary school and received his veterinary degree from Washington State University. He now lives in Ashburn, VA with his wife, Lisa, and their kids, Calvin, Ezra, and Reed. His veterinary interests are surgery and internal medicine.     Dr. Sara Ischinger

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Ischinger was born in Ewing, New Jersey but came to Virginia to attend James Madison University for undergraduate school. She wanted to become a veterinarian because she loves being around animals and is a fan of the bulldog breed. She attended Ross University where she received her veterinary degree and then joined Banfield in 2017. Her medical interests include internal medicine and bulldogs. She lives in Manassas, VA sharing her home with her Rottweiler, Willie, her tuxedo cat, Charlie, and her black cat, Eileen.     Dr. Jodie Potts

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Jodie Potts is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She came to Banfield Pet Hospital Sterling in 2011, and has an interest in ophthalmology. During her free time, Dr. Potts enjoys competing in equine triathalons (eventing), reading, and hiking. She has 3 horses named Comet, Fever, and Byrd.     Practice Manager

    Joana started with Banfield in 2010 and came to the Sterling location in 2014. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from Christopher Newport University. She lives in Leesburg, VA with her husband, Paul. They share their home with 3 dogs named Taz, Ella and Aubrie, their cat named Sophie, their hedgehog named Velvet, and Charmander their bearded dragon.
