Dr. Steven Velling
Chief of Staff
Dr. Velling grew up in Southern California and is a 1992 graduate from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. He moved to Virginia in 1996 and started his own hospital in Ashburn in 1998. He sold his practice in 2013, and then helped establish the world's largest overseas canine operation working for the U.S. State Department. In 2016, he took a position in Houston, TX as a consultant with Pfizer/Zoetis Animal Health, and recently moved back to be closer to family, friends, and beautiful Virginia. He lives in Ashburn with his wife, Carrie; rescue dog, Boone; 2 cats, Jill and Cricket; and has 2 daughters, Zoe and Anna. Dr. Velling enjoys travel, sports, good food, and the great outdoors.

Veterinarian
Dr. Washington is a 2011 graduate of Auburn University CVM, and has special interests in preventive medicine, soft tissue surgery and acupuncture. She is a resident of Loudoun County with her husband, 3 children, 3 dogs, 3 cats and beta fish and in her spare time, she enjoys reading and hiking.

Dr. Greg Swieter
Veterinarian
Dr. Swieter grew up in Fairfax, VA and attended Virginia Tech for undergrad where he graduated with honors in both biology and animal sciences. He then stayed in Blacksburg for another 4 years while getting his veterinary degree at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He loves educating clients and forging lasting relationships with clients and patients alike, and enjoys all types of cases, especially dermatology, internal medicine, and dentistry. Dr. Swieter lives in Aldie with his wife, Liz, and 2-year-old son, Lucas. In April, they will be welcoming a baby daughter to their family as well. They share their home with their 2 dogs, Gretchen and Kaylie, and a cat named Crookshanks. He spends his free time enjoying the company of his family and friends, playing sports, and rooting for his beloved Hokies and Steelers.

Practice Manager
Samantha started working for Banfield in Sterling in July 2005 as a Pet Care Assistant before evolving her role to a Client Service Coordinator. While working for Banfield, Samantha continued her education and received degrees in nursing and business administration, and became Practice Manager at the Leesburg location in January 2015. She currently lives with her 2 Saint Bernards, Diesel and Dakota, and her teddy bear hamster, Caramel the Houdini.
