Dr. Richard Trisotto
Chief of Staff
Dr. Trisotto is from New Jersey, and has been with Banfield since 2010. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and his veterinary degree from St. George's University. He's enjoying his life with wife, Jessica; Butters, his pit bull; and Harper, their dog. In his free time, he enjoys playing goalie in ice hockey and soccer, cooking, fun runs, hiking, and traveling. Dr. Trisotto is also interested in computers and photography. His veterinary specialties are soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, pit bulls, and reptile and small mammal exotic medicine.

Dr. Cynthia McElveen
Veterinarian
Dr. McElveen was born and raised in Wilmington, NC. She attended the University of Mary Washington where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences. Dr. McElveen joined the Falls Church location in 2005 as a veterinary assistant until 2007 when she attended Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine to pursue her own dream of being a veterinarian. She joined the Richmond, VA Banfield location in 2011 as an associate doctor, but soon found herself back in northern Virginia. During her off time, she enjoys hiking, going to concerts, watching movies and reading. She currently resides with her husband and two cats, Mack and Spike (a.k.a. Buddha).

Dr. Michelle Lapera
Veterinarian
Dr. Lapera grew up in Rye, NY with a family who loved animals. She attended the University of Delaware and received a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science with a double concentration in pre-veterinary medicine and biotechnology and a minor in biology. Dr. Lapera is a 2013 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, and then began working with Banfield Pet Hospital. Her professional interests include internal medicine, surgery, dermatology and emergency medicine. In her free time, Dr. Lapera enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Wai-Hong Wu
Veterinarian
Dr. Wu graduated from veterinary school in Taiwan and later passed the Veterinary Skills Training and Enhancement Program (VSTEP; a joint venture of College of Veterinarians of Ontario, the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association and the Ontario Veterinary College of the University of Guelph, Canada) in 2014. Dr. Wu completed AVMA Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduate (ECFVG) in 2017 and became eligible to practice veterinary medicine in the USA. Before obtaining his veterinary license, he worked as a research staff in research institutes and biotech company. Dr. Wu joined Banfield in 2017. He is married and lives with his wife and a Westie named Joyce. Dr. Wu enjoys practicing TaiChi, biking (indoor and outdoor), repairing electronic devices and installing bicycle components onto his mountain bikes.
