    Dr. Caryn McGrenra

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Caryn McGrenra joined the Banfield team in June of 2015 shortly after graduating from Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a Virginia Beach native who was excited with the opportunity to return home to pursue her career. She completed her undergraduate education at Virginia Tech where she obtained dual degrees in biology and wildlife science. Dr. McGrenra enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has particular interests in internal medicine and brachycephalic breeds. She currently lives in Chesapeake with Norma, a rescue pug; Gumbo, a Siamese mix; and Skittles, a chinchilla. In her spare time, Dr. McGrenra enjoys reading, running, spinning and spending time with her family. More Details >>

    Dr. Elizabeth Gonzalez

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Elizabeth Gonzalez received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology/pre-vet from Frostburg State University, and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in January of 2015. She holds other degrees in English with minors in creative writing and classical history as well as a master's degree in humanities - literature. Dr. Gonzalez joined the Banfield team in 2016. She lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, an officer in the United States Army, and their three cats, Dr. Who, Rose, and Amy. She became certified "Fear Free" in 2016 and uses that training to help keep pets as happy and stress-free as possible while under her care.     Dr. Neil Kelley earned a Bachelor of Science degree from George Washington University while serving 21 years active duty in the United States Navy as a deep sea diver. Following military service, he completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Virginia Tech. He, his wife and 3 children live in rural Virginia Beach on a small horse farm with their 3 horses, 2 dogs and a cat named Batman. His professional interests include orthopedics and surgery.     Dr. Alicia Ahlgrim

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Ahlgrim joined the Banfield in March 2018 after completing her clinical year at the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine and obtaining her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Ahlgrim obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. She has strong interests in internal medicine, animal behavior, and canine physical rehabilitation therapy. Dr. Ahlgrim grew up in the Chesapeake area and is excited to continue her work at Greenbrier. In her spare time, she likes to read, listen to music and attend concerts, go running, and spend time with her family.     Dr. Bridgett Bellinger

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Bridgett Bellinger is a native to Southern California and moved to Virginia in 2019 to join the Banfield team. Prior to Banfield, she worked at a private practice and did shelter medicine. She received her bachelor's degree in animal science in 2002 and in 2006, achieved her childhood dream and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University. Her special interest include dentistry and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Bellinger resides in Chesapeake with her 6-year-old son and large mixed breed dog, Kobe.     Jessica joined the Chesapeake eam in August 2016 as Practice Manager and started with Banfield as a Veterinary Assistant in 2012. Prior to veterinary medicine, she served as military police in the United States Navy. She and her husband share their home with 3 adopted cats (Arrow, Oliver, Octavia), the prince of the house, Maverick (a terrier mix), and princess of the house, Freya (an English mastiff).     Shift Lead

    Jasmin joined Banfield in January 2016 after working within the veterinary field for over 7 years at different practices. She was promoted to shift lead in April of 2018 and loves working beside her fellow leadership team. Aside from Banfield, Jasmin has been a dance instructor at Evelynn Ott School of Dance since 2012 and has taught everything from hip-hop to jazz to classical ballet. She lives at home with her 3-year-old son, PJ, and her 4 dogs, Diesel, Prince, Eve and Xena. Jasmin prides herself on being an advocate for animals, specifically the more nervous dogs that are more anxious to visit the vet.     Kim started working in the veterinary field in 2013 and joined Banfield as a veterinary assistant shortly after. She was promoted to shift lead in April of 2018. Kim prides herself on her value of efficiency and her ability to expedite every day smoothly. Aside from Banfield, she likes to spend her time going to the beach, sleeping, working out at the gym, various crafts, and hanging out with her loving family. Kim lives at home with her dog, Doobie, and two cats, Peanut and Cali. The best part of her job is assisting with surgical procedures and giving each and every animal quality care under anesthesia.     Veterinary Technician

    Leah joined the Banfield team in March of 2017 shortly after moving to the area with her husband, Casey, who is a Navy pilot. She graduated from St. Petersburg College’s online veterinary technology program in December 2017 and passed the VTNE in March 2018. Leah enjoys being a licensed veterinary technician and takes particular interest in the areas of anesthesia and dentistry. Originally from Michigan, she and her husband live in Virginia Beach with their 2 dogs, Brody and Sammy, as well as their 5 cats and 4 chinchillas.     Kristen (KT) started working for Banfield in 2013 while she was studying for her degree in veterinary medical technology at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, NC. Since graduating, she has worked at several Banfield Pet Hospitals across the country including North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Maryland, and California. She truly enjoy seeing our patients and educating clients along with our veterinarians. At home, KT has a Labrador mix named Max, a border collie named Winter, and two cats, Gizmo and Penny.     Madee joined Banfield in June of 2017. She graduated from Pima Medical institute in Colorado Springs, CO in October of 2016 and passed her VTNE in April of 2017. Madee appreciates the complex intricacy of surgery and seems to always be at ease in the surgical suite. She lives at home with her 2-year-old daughter, Aryanna, 2 dogs, Penelope and Billy, and cat, Aloha. Aside from Banfield, Madee spends her time off working on her jeep and going off-roading.
