Dr. Meghan Neal
Veterinarian
Dr. Neal had never dreamed of being anything other than a veterinarian. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Salisbury University, then went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to her current position, Dr. Neal lived in Pennsylvania where she worked as a mixed animal practitioner, treating both companion animals and farm animals. Her desire to be closer to family in her home state of Maryland, as well as to focus her skills on companion animals, brought her to Banfield. Outside of work, Dr. Neal enjoys crafting and DIY projects, catching up on the latest binge-worthy Netflix shows, and spending time with her family, including her dog, Tilly, and three cats, Junior, Brody, and Manny.

Dr. Sachiko Adams
Veterinarian
Dr. Adams graduated from veterinary school in Japan in 2013. She then completed AVMA Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduate (ECFVG) in 2016 in order to obtain her veterinary license in the USA. While studying for the ECFVG program, Dr. Adams worked as a veterinary technician for several years in veterinary clinics. Dr. Adams joined Banfield in 2017. She has one son and 2 cats, Max and Puma (Puma pictured above). Dr. Adams really enjoys traveling and exploring the community with her son.

Emily Marquart
Practice Manager
Emily graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and minor in public policy and management. Shortly after graduating, Emily discovered her affinity for animals and began her career with Banfield, starting as a veterinary assistant in 2012. She spent 2015-2017 managing the Banfield South Alexandria location, and is now very excited to be opening our Annandale location! In her time off, Emily enjoys spending time with furry companions including Murphy (dog), Clancy (cat), and Dapper (rabbit). Emily also enjoys spending time with her family, HGTV, swimming, and all things outdoors including hiking, biking, camping, gardening, and archery.

Fatima Rivas
Shift Lead
Fatima Rivas has been with Banfield since October of 2015. As shift lead, she spends half of her time as a veterinary assistant and the other half, partnering with our practice manager to help with administrative tasks in the hospital. Fatima is enrolled in the Penn Foster program to become a veterinary technician, and she is driven to help pets live better. Fatima’s goal in life is to make a difference in the world of animals, and her dreams are to travel the world to help animals from different backgrounds. Fatima spends her time off with her beautiful daughter, Juliana.

Emeli Rodriguez
Veterinary Assistant
Emeli began working at Banfield in 2016, and became motivated to continue her education in the veterinary field. Emeli recently completed her prerequisites for the veterinary technician program at NVCC and will be starting her first semester at San Juan Distance Learning Veterinary Technician Program. Upon completion of her vet tech program, Emeli’s goal is to attend school to become a veterinarian. Aside from school, Emeli enjoys spending time with her dogs, Linda, Lucy, and Thelonious, and her cat, Rukia.

Julie Billingsley
Veterinary Assistant
Julie has been with Banfield since April 2018 and has loved every second of her career. She has had a passion for working with animals since elementary school. Julie hopes to continue her veterinary experience to become a vet tech and veterinarian in the future. On her days off, Julie enjoys spending time with her family, including her daughter, Aleigh, and black Labrador retriever, Cody. She also enjoys painting, rollerblading, and cleaning.

Michaela Nichols
Client Service Coordinator
Michaela began working at Banfield in December of 2017. In her short time working here, she's become more fascinated with the veterinary field than she thought possible, and her current goal is to learn more about the field in an attempt to find her calling! She enjoys spending most of her time with her cat, MeMow (pictured above). She also enjoys spending time outdoors, studying ASL, and participating in musical theater!
