    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Richard joined Banfield as the Chief of Staff in the fall of 2015 after his retirement from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service. He graduated with a DVM degree from University of Missouri, Columbia in 1998 and completed a master's program in veterinary medical public health at North Carolina State University in 2006. He is a native of North Dakota and loves spending time at home with his wife and family, or visiting relatives which are scattered throughout the United States.     Dr. Juan Diaz


    Dr. Diaz joined Banfield in June 2017 after completing his veterinary degree at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. He grew up in El Paso, Texas with his brother and two sisters. He then attended Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in integrative biology. Dr. Diaz has a broad range of interests but is most passionate about cardiology, neurology, and opthomology. He prides himself in providing an excellent level of care with each and every pet he sees, as well as forming a lasting relationship with his clients. When out of the hospital, Dr. Diaz enjoys spending his free time with family and friends. He has a 5-year-old son named Orlando, as well as many close friends in the city. In addition, he enjoys exploring the outdoors with his 2 dogs, a pit bull mix named Petunia, and an Australian Shepard, Willoughby.     Dr. Chavira joined Banfield in 2015 after being in private animal practice in Kerrville for 4 years. He completed his veterinary degree at Texas A&M Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. Chavira grew up in San Antonio, Texas where he obtained his associate degree in biology and transferred to Texas A&M and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in 2007. He has an interest in soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. Dr. Chavira enjoys spending time at home with his wife, daughter and two pets. He also enjoys traveling, spending time with family while trying out a variety of foods from various cultures and going to the movies. More Details >>
