    Dr. Shakil Khan


    Dr. Shakil Khan has been in the veterinary field for more than 25 years, and has had the opportunity to work in different parts of the world including U.S., Canada, Pakistan, and Russia. He joined Banfield Pet Hospital in 2010. Dr. Khan's primary veterinary interests include preventive care, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. He is devoted to the companion animal-human bond and loves working with pet owners to help their beloved pet friends. Dr. Khan currently resides in Valley Ranch, Irving and in his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with his friends and family. More Details >>

    Dr. Andrea Yakel


    Dr. Yakel completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Oklahoma State University in 2013. After graduation, she worked in a mobile practice for 2 years in El Paso before moving to the Dallas Fort Worth area. She started with Banfield in 2019 after working in private practice and relief settings. Outside of work, Dr.Yakel enjoys spending time with her French bull dog, Eifeel, and her Siamese, Schmidt, as well as spending time enjoying some performing arts, reading, and movies.     Dr. Mónica Díaz-Meléndez


    Dr. Díaz-Meléndez received her Bachelor of Science degree in veterinary technology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus in 2000. She moved to the United States and worked as a LVT at Tuskegee University Small Animal Teaching Hospital for two years before applying to their veterinary school. After graduating from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, she moved to Houston, Texas where she practiced her first three years. In 2009, she began working as a relief veterinarian in the Dallas area. In 2011, she joined VitalPet Story Road Animal Hospital in Irving, Texas until 2016 when she took a break from private practice to stay home with her kids. In 2018, she returned to the practice by joining. She is married to her husband, Héctor, and has two boys and a dog, Marien. In her spare time, she enjoys, running, reading, and watching her boys playing sports. More Details >>
