Dr. Natalia Thomas
Chief of Staff
Dr. Thomas has been a part of the Banfield family since 2015. She was born and raised in North Dakota but attended veterinary school in the Caribbean at St. George's University. She finished her clinical year at Louisiana State University. After graduating, she settled in Duluth, Georgia with her husband, three dogs, Jhana, Pumpkin, Ami, and cat (who thinks he is a dog), Wally. In March of 2016, Dr. Thomas joined the Banfield team at Citadel in West Ashley, and in April of 2019, she joined our hospital here at James Island and has since become Chief of Staff. She is an advocate for preventive care as well as dental disease prevention, and has professional interests in soft tissue surgery, dermatology and small exotics. During her time off, Dr. Thomas enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband and pets.

Dr. Kelly Nutt
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Nutt has been working at the Banfield Pet Hospital on James Island for two years. She grew up in Melbourne Beach, which is a sleepy surf town on the east coast of Florida. She attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies and remained in Gainesville for veterinary school. After graduating, she moved to Charleston with her fiancé, their dog, Panda, and cat, Pounce. Dr. Nutt has professional interests in dermatology and spay/neuter surgery. In her free time, she enjoys reading, volleyball, and scuba diving. Dr. Nutt recently married her high school sweetheart and will soon be changing her name to Dr. Gold!

Dr. James MacGeorge
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. MacGeorge joined Banfield in April of 2018. He was raised in New Jersey but completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, where he met his wonderful wife, Claire. He then attended St. George's University for a short time before transferring to Kansas State University for veterinary school. Dr. MacGeorge has 3 beautiful children and 2 pets, Frank and Rufus. He has strong interests in surgery and preventive medicine. When not at the hospital, Dr. MacGeorge enjoys going to the beach and enjoying time with his lovely family.

Practice Manager
Miss Sara originally came from a background with the U.S. Army and then went into luxury hotel management. She loves pets and now enjoys getting to work with them every day. At home, Sara has 2 dogs, Pippa and Remi, and 2 cats, Val Kilmer and Bean Bag. She and her husband enjoy being outdoors and hiking with their dogs in their free time.

Shift Lead
Suzanne has worked with Banfield for about 7 years, and also has experience working in human medicine (working part-time at MUSC). She has a dog named Kevin, 3 cats, Riley, Henry, and Briair Rose, and a rabbit named Fluffy McFlufferson. In her spare time, Suzanne LOVES visiting Disney World with her 2 kids and husband.

Christina, LVT
Veterinary Technician
Christina has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician for just about 10 years, and graduated from the veterinary technician program at Trident Technical College. She knew she wanted to work with animals at a very young age. In her spare time, Christina enjoys impromptu dance parties with her daughter and spending time with her family. She currently has a 10-year-old rescued Yorkshire terrier named Ludacris. She encourages everyone to "Adopt, Don’t Shop"!

Veterinary Assistant
Casey is a New Jersey native and in her spare time, she does a lot of volunteer work for Keeper of the Wild, where she enjoys rehabilitating baby opossums. Since working in the veterinary field, she rescued a deaf, albino, Shar-Pei mix named Kane and loves spending time with him at the dog park with her family. Casey is treating him after being diagnosed with heartworm disease, which is why she would like to remind everyone of the importance of keeping your pets on monthly heartworm preventives!

Samantha is currently enrolled to become a licensed veterinary technician. In her spare time, she loves spending her days off with her rescue dog and newest addition to her family, Abby. Samantha and her husband enjoy going on walks and hikes with Abby and discovering new places to explore. On rainy days, she likes to snuggle up in bed with her dog and two cats with a good book or movie.

McKenzie was raised in Heidelberg, Germany, but moved to Charleston in 2014 to study pre-veterinary sciences at the College of Charleston. After graduating in May 2019, she enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Program to work towards her LVM. In her spare time, McKenzie loves taking her two dogs, Lafayette and Zuri, to the James Island Dog Park. She also enjoys practicing yoga, travelling, and spending time with her bearded dragon, Saski.

Clara started at Banfield in May 2017 in Chemlsford, MA as a technician. Since then, she has enrolled in school to get her degree in veterinary sciences. Clara moved from Boston in September 2018 and loves exploring Charleston with her best friend, Ellie Mae, who she adopted from Pet Helpers the day she moved to Charleston. Together, they enjoy going to Folly Beach and sharing snuggles during naps.

Maggie joined our team in September 2018 as our Client Service Coordinator. Since then, she has enrolled in school to earn a degree in veterinary sciences, and is working as a veterinary assistant here at Banfield. Miss Maggie is also a dance instructor at The Academy of Dance Arts in Mt. Pleasant. In her free time, she loves to dance, go to the beach, or spend quality time with her 2 Siberian huskies, Luka and Maya.

Prior to Banfield, Abbey worked in veterinary emergency care, where she not only worked at the front desk, but also cared for patients as a veterinary assistant. She has a husky/shepherd mix named Tundra and in her spare time, Abbey enjoys going to the beach, bringing Tundra to the dog park, and laying out by the pool.

Megan is originally from Northeastern Ohio. She moved to Charleston to attend the College of Charleston, where she earned a B.A. degree in communications and a B.A. degree in arts management. Megan loves music, so when she is not at work, she is usually at or working at a concert. She also loves to read, write, and hang out with her friends (fur or human). She has an 8-year-old beagle puppy named Oliver and a 9-month-old Birman kitty named Ophelia, who mean the world to her!
