    Dr. Giselle Boertjens

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Giselle Boertjens grew up in Prairieville, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate education at Louisiana Tech University and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Boertjens has practiced both companion and large animal medicine, and now focuses on our canine and feline friends. Her veterinary interests include dermatology, critical care, surgery, and internal medicine. She and her husband reside in Somerset, PA with their golden retriever, Jackson, border collie, Somer, and 2 spoiled rotten cats, Humphrey and Reba. During her free time, Dr. Boertjens enjoys hiking, kayaking, painting, and working on their sheep farm. More Details >>

    Dr. Shannon Sullivan

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Shannon Sullivan joined the Banfield team in August 2011. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pennsylvania State University in 2006 with a bachelor's in animal science and a minor in equine science. In 2010, she completed her veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a one year rotating Small Animal Internship at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Sullivan achieved her Small Animal Acupuncture Certification in 2014. Her professional interests include dermatology, dentistry, clinical pathology and acupuncture/holistic medicine. More Details >>

    Dr. Ahalya Anit

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Anit is originally from Sri Lanka (Ceylon). She obtained her bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine and animal science from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. After graduation, she worked in several places in Sri Lanka and the United States, gaining much experience with large and small animals. Her professional interests include small animal soft tissue surgery and internal medicine with preventive care. In her spare time, Dr. Anit enjoys cooking, reading, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She is married with two beautiful children, Aneesha and Ashwin. More Details >>

    Dr. Lindsay Buchanan

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Lindsay Buchanan is officially out of FST now and settling into her home hospital of North Fayette! She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but has since been all over the states. Dr. Buchanan completed her undergraduate and vet school degrees at Auburn, and followed this with an internship in equine sports medicine in Connecticut. She has also finished additional schooling to become certified in animal chiropractic medicine. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, exploring new areas and riding her horse. More Details >>

    Dr. Jennifer Nogay

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Nogay was raised in nearby Weirton, WV. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014. Dr. Nogay obtained her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (St. Kitts, West Indies) after completing her clinical year at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While living in St. Kitts, Dr. Nogay adopted a three-legged dog named Trixie and a cat named Prince Oliver. She also has a Chiweenie named Chichi and a miniature poodle named Chloe. Dr. Nogay has a special interest in surgery and focuses on companion animals. She enjoys caring for and treating all animals (from exotic to farm) and recently returned from a trip to South Africa, where she worked to provide veterinary care to many endangered and large wild animals. For her next trip, Dr. Nogay plans to travel to India to work with local spay and neuter clinics. More Details >>

    Dr. Amanda Seader

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Seader graduated from Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. She has a dog named Brutus and two cats, Rose and Callie, and in her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Seader also enjoys Penguins hockey and hiking. More Details >>

    Stephanie Mersing

    Practice Manager

    Stephanie was born and raised in Pittsburgh and has been with Banfield since 2007, after taking a few years off to raise her two sons, Sawyer and Clayton, with her husband, Juston. Stephanie is thrilled to return to the North Fayette location as practice manager! She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Chatham College and shortly thereafter, began during this time that she developed her strong interest in avian working at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Verona. It was medicine. She has a special place in her heart for special needs companion animals, and currently has a three-legged Chihuahua named Ghia and a boxer-greyhound named Addie. In her free time, Stephanie likes to bird watch and go on nature walks with her kids. More Details >>
