Dr. Tamaya Trejo
Veterinarian
After graduating from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013, Dr. Trejo joined Miami Veterinary Specialists for a year in a rotating small animal internship. She grew up in California and am thrilled to have relocated transcontinentally back to the West Coast. She enjoys all aspects of preventive medicine and soft tissue surgery and after joining Banfield in 2015, she has extended her passion to quality dentistry. Outside of work, Dr. Trejo enjoys hiking, traveling, horseback riding, and water sports. Most of all, she loves traveling with herhusband. Together with the Banfield hospital team, she looks forward to helping your pet get the best and most compassionate care!

Dr. Katya Schuster-Barber
Veterinarian
Dr. Schuster is originally from Germany, but grew up in Florida. She obtained a B.S. degree in zoology from the University of Florida and a M.S. degree in ecology/environmental biology from the University of North Florida before deciding to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She attended St. George’s University where she graduated with highest honors. She has been with Banfield since 2017, when she moved to Oregon to be closer to family. Dr. Schuster is particularly interested in preventive care, surgery, and exotic animal medicine. Her favorite dog breeds are German shepherds and sight hounds and in her spare time, Dr. Schuster enjoys reading (especially science fiction), crafting, art, and exploring the beautiful PNW!

Yesenia Gutierrez
Veterinary Assistant
Yesenia is originally from California, but recently moved to the PNW and has found her home here in Oregon. She is married with two dogs and a cat. She would like to someday work in a zoo as a technician but in the meantime, she's so grateful to be with Banfield because she gets to do what she loves and has so many opportunities to advance and learn. She hopes to enroll in the Veterinary Technician program through Penn Foster in the near future. Yesenia is very passionate about keeping pets with their owners as long as possible, and believes in the importance of preventive care because it can really make a difference in the quality and longevity of pets lives! Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and visiting new places with her husband!

Veterinary Assistant
Monica is back in the veterinary field after several years of exclusive work in her main career as a mother of two wild and amazing humans. She enjoys volunteering, both with animals and children, and is looking forward to helping more in 2019. She is a native Oregonian and loves spending time in both the forest and at the beach. Monica also enjoys reading in her free time. She appreciates and believes in Banfield's focus on preventive care.

Client Service Coordinator
Larissa is originally from Illinois, but moved to Portland for school a few years ago. She is studying biology/pre-veterinary/chemistry at Portland State University, and hopes to one day become a veterinarian. While she is currently in college and does not have any animals with her in Portland, she has two cats, Pusheen and Stormy, back home. She also enjoys fostering animals through the Oregon Humane Society. She spends most of her free time studying, volunteering, or lounging with her foster animals! Larissa loves working at Banfield because of its team comradery and its focus on preventive care!
