Her life is busy with 2 wonderful and crazy boys, an amazing husband, and 4 kitties. She is an avid Disney fan and her goal is to visit all Disney Parks before she turns 60.

Dr. Brittany Lauman
Veterinarian
Dr. Brittany Lauman grew up in Milwaukie, Oregon, and has been with Clackamas Banfield since 2004, starting as a veterinary assistant. She graduated from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. She has a passion for preventive medicine and dentistry, and enjoys partnering with her clients to strengthen the human-animal bond, and ensure that pets are living long, pain-free lives. She believes in the fear free approach to her patients, and enjoys creating lasting relationships. She is a member of a local veterinary leadership group, the Portland Veterinary Medical Association’s Power of 10, and actively attends continuing education courses. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, young son, French bulldog/Boston terrier mix dog named Ayla, and their cat, Tiki. Dr. Lauman also enjoys traveling, hiking, and visiting new breweries.

Dr. Jennifer Douglass

Dr. Jennifer Douglass is originally from the Chicago suburbs and received her B.S. degree from the University of Illinois. She then continued on at U of I to receive her DVM in 2011. She has been out in the Portland area now for 6 years and loves it! Dr. Douglass currently has a beautiful daughter and 2 cats, Kingsley and Bella. She loves spending time with her family and gardening.

Dr. Haleigh Schrote

Dr. Haleigh Schrote joined the practice in fall 2017. She is originally from Maryland and received her B.S. degree from Berry College in Georgia. She graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 with a focus in small animal medicine. She particularly loves surgery and preventive care, and enjoys hiking and baking in her spare time.

Dr. June Wiley graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She moved with her wife, Tabitha, and their cat, Hedwig, so they could experience the great outdoors of the northwest! Her hobbies include hiking, climbing, camping, and singing karaoke.

Dr. Kara Gendron graduated from Colorado State University in 2018 with a focus in small animal medicine and surgery. After graduating, she immediately headed west to the beautiful city of Portland with her two kitties, Sunny and Finn. Her goal is to help keep pets happy and healthy by educating clients on appropriate preventive medicine, and catching diseases early when they are easiest to treat. She believes pets are part of the family and enjoys helping people bond with their pets by better understanding their needs and care. In her free time, Dr. Gendron enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, camping, rock climbing, and kayaking. When not exploring the wonders of nature, Dr. Gendron loves to work on one of her numerous painting or crocheting projects.

Dr. Erika Akerman

Dr. Akerman is originally from the Midwest. She grew up in South Dakota, then attended college and played volleyball at the University of Minnesota. She moved out to Oregon about 12 years ago and attended OSU to attain her DVM degree. This is her second career as she was previously a counselor for youth with addiction issues. “I find the deductive reasoning and relationship skills I gained in my first career continue to assist me in collaborating with owners to provide the best care for their pets today." She is passionate about treating pets with dermatology challenges, has a strong interest in dentistry and surgery. "There is nothing like helping an animal to stop licking incessantly and find sweet, itch-free relief." The most rewarding part of her job is working with people that love their pets and wish, simply, for a little guidance to make their animal-human bond extra special.

Dr. Newton is originally from Illinois, where she grew up with a cornfield in her backyard and a house full of animals. She moved to Arizona in middle school and lived in the dry desert for 14 years, and attended University of Arizona for her undergraduate degree in veterinary science. After graduation, Dr. Newton attended Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine in Glendale, AZ. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 4 sassy cats, a puggle, a bearded dragon, and 2 rats.
