    Dr. Leonard Cooper

    Chief of Staff

Dr. Cooper wanted to be a veterinarian as far back as he can remember. Heavily influenced by his grandfather and famous figures like Sir David Attenborough, he developed a love and a passion for animals. In 2002, he graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London, England. His studies took him all over the world. Caring for lions of all ages in Africa was one of many truly humbling experiences. He worked for a spay and neuter charity in Thailand before starting his first job in the UK, where he spent 10 years in small animal practice. In 2009, he was awarded the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon’s Certificate in Small Animal Medicine, and in 2012, he moved to the United States where he started working for Banfield Pet Hospital. Dr. Jamesia R. Showers

    Veterinarian

Dr. Jamesia R. Showers is a 2010 graduate of Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. Being a veterinarian was her life-long dream since she was three years old. She has always cared for animals and never grew out of it. She sincerely enjoys her career choice and feels that this is her calling. She has a five-year-old diva pit bull named Chyna and a one-year-old Chihuahua that was abandoned in PetSmart at two weeks old named Brown. She loves her human baby and her pets. She treats all client’s pets as she would want her pets to be treated. She believes in preventive care because she wants to keep our patients around as long as possible, and some illnesses can be treated if found early and/or prevented. She especially enjoys dermatology cases, internal medicine and soft tissue/ophtho surgery. More Details >>

He majored in animal science at Cal Poly Pomona and attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts. He completed his veterinary training at Louisiana State University before joining the Banfield family. His interests are internal medicine, mostly endocrinology. Originally from Los Angeles, he now lives in Las Vegas with his girlfriend and dog, Roxie. More Details >>

    Dr. Catherine Gilabert

    Veterinarian

Dr. Gilabert has been working at Banfield since 2014. She graduated from Colorado State University and as a California native, she wanted to work somewhere warm. She started out her career aspiring to work with large animals and fell in love with small animal medicine, dentistry, pain management and preventive health. Dr. Gilabert has 2 Maltese dogs, Sprite and Ellie, a German Shepherd mix, Gruffi, and a red eared slider named Turtle. She treats all pet patients as if they were a member of her family. On her days off, she likes to read up on the newest medicine so that she can do the best for her patients. Dr. Gilabert currently resides in Henderson, her home donned with solar panels, has a small vegetable garden, and is trying to make her home have an edible landscape. More Details >>
