Dr. Brandi Trantham grew up in Belen, NM and went on to New Mexico State University where she majored in Animal Science and graduated from the College of Agriculture with honors. There she became a huge fan and supporter of Aggie Basketball! She attended veterinary school at Colorado State University, and after graduation, moved back to central New Mexico and joined Banfield in 2011. She accepted the role of Chief of Staff of the Albuquerque hospital in fall of 2012 and continues to hold that position today. She lives in Los Lunas with her husband and young daughter. She is the owner of two dogs named Dixie and General Frankenstein and a cat named Cami. Her professional interests are in preventive care and soft tissue surgery, and she is proud of her participation in community outreach events that support local rescue groups and schools.

Dr. Ana Esquivel grew up on a ranch near the Pecos River in Dexter, NM. At the age of six, Dr. Esquivel knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. Dr. Esquivel attended Colorado State University to complete her bachelor’s degree in Equine Sciences as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. In 2005, she joined the Banfield team as a veterinary student in the summer job program. Dr. Esquivel moved back to New Mexico and began working with the hospital team at Albuquerque in May 2008 as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Esquivel’s medical interests include preventive care, soft tissue surgery and dentistry. Certified in veterinary medical acupuncture, she uses this alternative modality as a chronic pain management tool. Dr. Esquivel enjoys spending time at home with her husband, working in the garden and taking care of her five dogs, three cats, and two horses.

Dr. Vatsana Phaybouth was born in Laos, but Albuquerque has been her hometown since she was one year old. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology in 2001 as well as her graduate degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2004 from the University of New Mexico. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2009 from Colorado State University. She has worked at Banfield Pet Hospital since graduation and moved to the Mercantile location in January, 2012. She is married with three children ages one, three and five. She also has one pet that is a 12-year-old Labrador mix. She stays busy with activities for the kids. In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities, organizing her house and watching movies.
