    Dr. Gonipeta has been a Veterinarian since 2006 and part of the Banfield family since 2012. His professional interests include small animal medicine with an emphasis on preventive care, client education, and surgery. After obtaining his DVM degree from India, Dr. Gonipeta went to graduate school at Michigan State University receiving a master’s degree in immunology, and then did research in food allergy and immunology for three years.     Julie Szappanos

    Practice Manager

    Julie began working at Banfield in Rocky Mount in August of 2013. She started as a veterinary assistant while attending college to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She became a registered technician in 2015. In 2017 she took the position as Practice Manager. When she is not busy managing the practice, she loves to do RVT appointments, and assist in surgery when possible. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, and enjoys traveling and being outdoors. More Details >>

    Veterinary Assistant

    Ashley started her Banfield career straight out of high school as a Pet Care Assistant in June of 2015. She then was promoted to a veterinary assistant. She is currently our primary surgery nurse. She is a very essential part of our team in making sure the pets are well monitored during surgery and post operative recovery in all anesthetic procedures.
