Dr. Laura Winstead
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Winstead is from Raleigh, North Carolina, and graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 with fear free certification. She started her career with Banfield in the summer of 2018. She is especially interested in dentistry, behavior, and puppy care. She has two rescue dogs, a border collie mix named Presley, and a Brittany spaniel named Meadow. On her days off, she enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time with her dogs and her husband.

Kyle Vanderwerf
Practice Manager
Kyle started with Banfield in December of 2015 as a client service coordinator. He has worked in the animal care field in some capacity since he was 14 years old and while he has tried other jobs, he always came back to his passion for animals. Being able to help provide care for pets alongside such an incredibly talented team has been extremely rewarding for him. When not working, Kyle is either traveling, doing home improvements, or spending time with his 3 dogs, Piper, Beau and Aero.

Veterinary Technician
Tori is a registered veterinary technician who started with Banfield in 2016. She loves her job because she loves helping out animals and helping people get to spend as much time with their pet as possible! While she loves working with small animals, Tori's dream job would be at a zoo or aquarium with the exotic animals.

Veterinary Assistant
Keya started with Banfield in October of 2017 as a veterinary assistant. Throughout her life, she has always had a love for animals, always having some kind of pet in her life whether it be dogs, cats, hamsters or goldfish. Keya loves that she is able to advocate for and provide a voice for pets that need care. To her, the most important things in life boil down to compassion and love. Keya enjoys interacting with clients and their pets, and is always willing to help with anything that she can.

Alicia graduated from the University of Florida in the fall of 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science. Originally from Florida, she moved to Raleigh to start her career in veterinary medicine as an assistant. Alicia plans to take classes to become a registered vet technician in the next few years and one day hopes to finish her schooling to become a doctor.

Anna Batezel
Veterinary Assistant
Anna started with Banfield in October of 2018. She grew up in a small town in New Jersey and knew she wanted to pursue a career working with animals from a young age. She graduated from NC State University in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science with a veterinary bioscience concentration, and minors in microbiology and human medicine & health. While in school, she horseback rode for the NC State Dressage Team and qualified for and competed at Nationals in 2017. She hopes/plans to go back to school to earn her DVM degree.

Carolina started with Banfield in August of 2017 as a client service coordinator. She didn't know what to expect when she started out but has come to love what she does and has excelled at it. While Carolina has a family pet named Lucky, she has a love of Chihuahuas and hopes to adopt one in the future! One of Carolina's favorite things about working here is being able to meet puppies and kittens while helping to ensure they get the best care.

She has always wanted to work with animals in any capacity and was absolutely thrilled when given the opportunity to work here. Joy is dedicated to providing the best care she can to clients and their pets alike. She is currently enrolled in the RVT program at Penn Foster and working toward transitioning to being more hands on in the care of pets.
