Dr. Stephen Henderson
Chief of Staff
Dr. Henderson graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012, and served in The United States Army Veterinary Corps from 2012-2016. Dr. Henderson completed a 1 year internship at the Fort Bragg Veterinary Center, and subsequently oversaw a DoD research facility in the greater Boston area as the Chief of Veterinary Support for the following 3 years. He and his wife, Krystal, moved from New England to the Triangle in 2016 with their sweet pibble, Zuri Baby. Dr. Henderson joined Banfield as an associate in August 2016. Upon being promoted to Chief of Staff in September 2017, he now practices medicine at our Six Forks and Creedmoor hospitals.

Dr. Amber McHugh
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. McHugh graduated a Fighting Illini from the University of Illinois. She has a big hound named Groot that her family loves taking for walks along all the great Greenway trails in Raleigh! She also keeps lots of chickens and is getting her first bee hive. Dr. McHugh looks forward to helping provide the best care for your beloved pet.

Dr. Shama Lee
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Lee graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in veterinary medicine in 2013. Go Pack! She LOVES caring for animals (healthy and sick) and working with owners to provide the best care possible from prevention to therapeutic care. To be the best doctor possible for you and your pet, Dr. Lee is expanding her knowledge base to include acupuncture and other holistic medical approaches. The blend of western conventional medicine with eastern medicine provides greater health care service and healing opportunities for you and your pet. Dr. Lee enjoys spending time with her husband, family, pets, and friends. She currently has 2 dogs and 5 cats.

Dr. Kimberly Cook
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Cook completed her undergraduate studies in human biology, health, and society at Cornell University. While there, she took an interest in animal science and education by tutoring at local public schools in Ithaca, NY. Dr. Cook graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 where she explored a variety of interests including small animal soft tissue surgery and internal medicine, exotics and wildlife medicine, and large animal medicine and surgery. Before joining Banfield in the spring of 2016, she worked as a relief emergency veterinarian and also at a private practice in Florida that handled exotics, wildlife, avian, and small animals. Dr. Cook has two dogs named Juno and Kali, both are rescues she adopted while in vet school. On her days off, Dr. Cook enjoys running, playing with her dogs, swimming, doing yoga, knitting, and creating artwork.

Izah Braswell
Practice Manager
Izah has worked for Banfield for five years and recently became the Practice Manager of the Six Forks location in April of 2018. She has a house full of pets including two Australian shepherds, a cat named Hops, and a quarter horse she rides in her free time. Izah graduated from NCSU with a degree in agricultural science and a minor in animal science. She can't wait to meet you and your pets!

Kaiti May, RVT
Shift Lead
Kaiti is the RVT shift lead at the Banfield Pet Hospital at Six Forks. She has an Australian shepherd named Hunter and a horse who is an off the track thoroughbred that she barrel races in her free time. Kaiti recently got engaged and will be getting married October of 2019!
