    Dr. Kyra Tehve-Swallow

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Kyra Tehve-Swallow has worked for Banfield since the spring of 2004. She is a 2003 graduate of North Carolina State's College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her bachelor's degree in journalism with a concentration in biology from Boston University in 1992. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Swallow has lived in the Raleigh area since 1995. She and her husband share their home with two kids, a fat cat, a skinny cat, a bunch of fish, a Bojack named Gromit Skywalker and a Jack Russell Terrier named Mollie Annabeth Pearl. More Details >>

    Dr. Joca van der Veen

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. van der Veen joined Banfield in April 2006. She studied at Utrecht University (near Amsterdam) in the Netherlands and worked in research at the University of Florida. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Utrecht University in 2000 and moved to the United States shortly thereafter. She has worked in small animal practices in California and North Carolina. When Dr. van der Veen is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 daughters and a rambunctious chocolate Labrador Retriever named Klara. She also enjoys running, yoga, triathlons, as well as travelling and reading. Dr. van der Veen enjoys small animal medicine and has a special interest in dermatology. More Details >>

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Lisa Wiltron has been a Veterinarian with Banfield since 2007. She received her undergraduate degree in zoology with a minor in microbiology from North Carolina State University. She then continued her schooling at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine, where she received her veterinary degree in 2004. Dr. Wiltron has a special interest in feline medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Wiltron enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has a daughter, Keira and a son, Connor. She also has four cats: Tyler, Micah, Noah and Mally. More Details >>

    Dr. Tiffany Kutner (Clayton)

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Tiffany Kutner was born in Presque, Maine and has lived in North Carolina since 1990. Her father was in the Air Force, which allowed her to live in such places as the Philippines, Maine and Arizona. She attended NCSU for her undergraduate and veterinary degrees, graduating veterinary school in 2005. She then completed a one-year internship in Pennsylvania. Dr. Kutner came back to North Carolina and practiced in Apex for 5 years, and started working for Banfield in the summer of 2011. She has a cat named Peanut, a puggle named Khol, and a horse named Xena. She rides and shows horses as her hobby and loves all of her pets tremendously! More Details >>

    Practice Manager

    Shasta has been with Banfield since March 2009. She and her husband have 4 dogs, 2 bearded dragons and 2 beautiful girls. Shasta is a strong believer in high quality medicine, and treating clients and pets like family. She was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, SC and has lived in Raleigh since 1993.
