Dr. Anna Parviainen
Chief of Staff
Dr. Anna Parviainen is a 1996 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her doctorate, followed by a fellowship in anesthesia, then a residency in large animal internal medicine, passing her boards for diplomate status in 2000. Dr. Parviainen is USDA accredited for dogs and cats, and began practicing small animal medicine in 2002. She has enjoyed working in a shelter and clinical practice in Georgia, Maryland, and North Carolina, joining Banfield in the spring of 2016. Her professional interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology and dermatology. Dr. Parviainen enjoys spending her time with her family.

Dr. Anitha Shanmugam
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Anitha Shanmugam was born and raised in India. She graduated in 2009 from Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University with distinction. She worked in a small animal practice in India before moving to the United States in 2011. Once here, she completed a clinical training program at Louisiana State University. Dr. Shan, as we call her, enjoys doing surgeries and her favorite part of veterinary care is internal medicine. She is most satisfied to get a sick pet back on its feet. When not working, she enjoys her free time watching movies, traveling and playing with her 4-year-old daughter.

Dr. Natalia Rodas
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Rodas received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2011 and graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2018 with a focus in mixed animal medicine. Her professional interests include dog behavior and cytology, although she is still developing her preferences. In her free time, she loves dancing (salsa and swing), and enjoys socializing with people during dances. She has 2 pets; Joey, a Maine coon cat, and Katy, a sweet Shetland sheepdog. Dr. Rodas is fluent in Spanish, as she was born in Mexico but moved to California at the age of 6. She was raised in California but really enjoyed the East coast during veterinary school and decided to stick around.
