Dr. Owen has been with the Banfield family for 4 years. Originally from Michigan, she has called many places home including Hawaii, St. Kitts, and Charlotte. Dr. Owen shares her home with her husband, the world's best Doberman pinscher, a crazy Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix, and a cat who thinks she is a mini panther.

Dr. Kimberly Basil
Veterinarian
Dr. Basil was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She attended a small forestry school in Syracuse, New York and graduated with a B.S. degree in biotechnology before leaving snowy winters behind to attend St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. After spending her clinical year at Texas A&M, she moved to Charlotte with her now husband and joined the Banfield team in 2018. She has special interests in dermatology and emergency medicine. Dr. Basil enjoys spending time in the mountains of western NC or anywhere on the ocean. She has one pet at home, a slightly quirky, but lovable Weimaraner mix from Houston, Texas.

Kameron Hertel
Shift Lead
Kameron was born and raised in Kansas, and attended Kansas State University where he met his wife, Dr. Samantha Hertel. He and his wife have several dogs and horses. He is an avid K-State fan and in his spare time, he runs the local K-State Alumni Club in Charlotte. On any given day, you can find Kameron watching K-State games or any other sports that happen to be on TV.

Samantha was born and raised in Virginia, and moved to North Carolina 12 years ago for a new start. After working in the restaurant business for many years, she decided to make a career change. Her husband encouraged her to consider the veterinary field. She feels that she has found her calling.

Veterinary Assistant
Carol was born and raised in Charlotte and loves living in the South. She has one daughter and two granddaughters in Wisconsin. Carol also has a 16-year-old Chihuahua, Princess, who she rescued from animal control. In her free time, she loves to volunteer to help kids and pets, read, go to the beach, and take long hikes.

Mackenzie loves working with animals and thought that working with Banfield would be a great idea to learn how to care for them. Mackenzie has three cats, Whiskers (14 years old and very lazy), Aerial (6 years old and loves to cuddle), and June (3 years old and the newest addition to the family). You can usually find Mackenzie playing with her cats at home and reading a good book. She also enjoys playing games on her laptop.

Kelly lived in Kansas her whole life and moved to North Carolina with her husband to help take care of his family. Kelly joined Banfield because of her love for animals and doing whatever she could to help them. Her interest in veterinary medicine comes from her time at Hutchinson Community College where she played softball and took all the vet and agriculture classes that she could. Kelly also worked at several feed lots and animal clinics before coming to Banfield. She is married and has two dogs.

Jessica grew up on a farm in Charlotte and has always had a love for all animals. She has cat named Tsuki Ping which she says is a spicy little nugget. Jessica loves spending time with her family and friends especially sweet god daughter, Shelby.

Patricia enjoys helping others and helping pets is an added perk. She enjoys working for Banfield because she feels like she is appreciated and she gets to work with pets everyday. Her husband, Gary, and her parents are very close. They enjoy camping, motorcycle riding, and quilting together. Patricia is a fourth generation quilter and loves working with her mother on projects. They have two cats named Big Kitty and Lucky. In her spare time, Patricia enjoys quilting and putting puzzles together, and when she retires, she would love to own her own quilting business.

Michelle joined Banfield because she has always loved animals. She has six cats with their own personalities; Shadow is the queen of the group, King Leo is the chill kitty, Smokey loves feet, Duckie is the house litterbox monitor and tattle-tale, Scrappy is scared of everything, and Loki annoys all the other cats. Michelle loves to read, make jewelry, play Pokémon GO, and attend sci-fi conventions.
