    Dr. Basil was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She attended a small forestry school in Syracuse, New York and graduated with a B.S. degree in biotechnology before leaving snowy winters behind to attend St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. After spending her clinical year at Texas A&M, she moved to Charlotte with her now husband and joined the Banfield team in 2018. She has special interests in dermatology and emergency medicine.     Kelly lived in Kansas her whole life and moved to North Carolina with her husband to help take care of his family. Kelly joined Banfield because of her love for animals and doing whatever she could to help them. Her interest in veterinary medicine comes from her time at Hutchinson Community College where she played softball and took all the vet and agriculture classes that she could.
