Dr. Rachel Germain
Chief of Staff
Dr. Rachel Germain has been working with Banfield in Durham, NC since 2012. After graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, she worked as an equine veterinarian for 4 years before transitioning to small animal practice. Dr. Germain is passionate about preventive care, feline medicine and creating a welcoming environment for all of our patients. At home, she loves spending time with her 2 children and their 2 kitties, Moonbeam Galaxy and Raven the Spy Cat.

Dr. Julianna Frum
DVM
Dr. Julianna Frum is from West Virginia, but fell in love with the Raleigh-Durham area after attending NC State for undergrad. After graduation, she served in the US Navy, and then went on to graduate from Mississippi State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Following graduation, Dr. Frum completed an internship and residency at Mississippi State, specializing in canine and feline medicine through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Dr. Frum initially joined the Banfield family as a locum veterinarian during her residency in 2018, and started full time at Banfield Southpoint in August 2020. Dr. Frum has a passion for preventative care, behavior medicine, and geriatric care. She has two french bulldogs at home, (Carl and Gertie), and in her free time loves being outdoors and exploring her new state with her frenchies and her boyfriend Shane.

Dr. Chelsea Mursch is a 2018 graduate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she fostered a special interest in low-stress handling and behavioral medicine. She is passionate about client education and eager to meet you and your pets. Dr. Mursch has 2 dogs and 3 cats of her own, and spends her free time horse back riding and exploring the Raleigh area.

Dr. Ericka Gonzalez
Veterinarian
Dr. Ericka Gonzalez moved from New Jersey to attend NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Realizing her passion for preventive care and building relationships with clients and pets, she entered small animal general practice after graduating in 2018, and joined the Banfield family in 2019. She has 1 dog, adopted while in vet school, who loves running and catching frisbees. A few of her favorite things about relocating to the Raleigh-Durham area include being able to bring her dog almost everywhere, a milder climate, the food culture, and proximity to both beach and mountains.

Dr. Tarinder Sonia

Dr. Sonia moved from Vancouver Canada in July 2019 after getting married to a neuropsychiatrist in Durham. She managed her own small animal practice since 2010. Before opening her own practice, Dr. Sonia has worked with Banfield in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Sonia has one chihuahua mix dog that she rescued in 2011. She completed her masters degree in veterinary pathology from India and did her Navle and CPE exams in Las Vegas and Mississippi. Dr. Sonia loves living in NC due to its milder temperature as she loves outdoors. Her hobbies are travelling, learning new things like painting, music, dance etc . Dr. Sonia is very passionate about her job as it gives her opportunity to expand her knowledge every day .

Paris started working at Banfield in August 2020. Paris studied at Purdue University in Indiana and moved to Raleigh 10 years ago to pursue her veterinary career. She has worked in many different areas of animal medicine, small animal, wildlife rescue, and equine to name a few. She has 3 cats, a dog and one human that calls Paris mom and she couldn't be happier.

Stephanie has been with Banfield since September 2003. She graduated from Meredith College in 2004 with a B.S. degree in biology (pre-veterinary concentration), a B.A. degree in chemistry, and a minor in dance. Stephanie has been married to her husband, Jason, since February 2007 and they have 2 daughters, Madelyn Grace and Avyelle Hope. Additionally, she has 4 pets including a Chihuahua named Penelope, a beagle named Savannah (Banna for short), and 2 tuxedo cats, Leo and Whiskers. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family.

Veterinary Technician
Melissa started working for Banfield in November 2017 and transferred here from the Cary location in December 2018. She was born and raised in New York, and graduated with a B.S. degree in veterinary technology from Mercy College in 2004. She moved to North Carolina in 2006 to work for the intermediate care department at NCSU CVM and was there for 6 years. She has experience ranging from emergency to hands-on care, is Free Free Certified (Level 3) and is an ISFM Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional. Melissa currently lives in Holly Springs with her cats Penelope, Cyrano and Vixen.

Matthew started with Banfield in 2017. He was born in Texas and graduated from Taunton High School in Massachusetts in 2017, where he was very heavily involved in DECA. DECA taught Matthew about hospitality, business, customer service, and management. He hopes to one day become a practice manger of a Banfield hospital and is well on his way to reaching that goal. Matthew moved to North Carolina to be closer to family, and loves North Carolina and working for Banfield!

Konnor has been working with Banfield since June 2018. Transferring from Hampton University, he looks to earn his Bachelor of Science degree at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Upon completion, he looks to pursue veterinary school and has interests in conservation and research in large exotics and working as an equine veterinarian. Konnor largely contributes his interest in animal care through faculty at Hampton University's Equine Facility, Dr. Fuller of Caswell Veterinary Services, and his family. Although he loves his large animals, his Maltese-Yorkie, Kensley, has his heart. For fun, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and always learning something new. He lives by Muhammad Ali's quote, "Live everyday as if it were your last because someday you're going to be right".

Allie has been with Banfield since 2016. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a B.S. degree in biology in 2016, and moved here from Charlotte in 2019. She is currently housing a small zoo at home with a basenji mix named Paisley, a Bengal/highland lynx mix named Atlas, a red eared slider turtle named Bubble, and a poison dart frog named Bean. She and her boyfriend also have a few fish tanks! In her free time, Allie enjoys playing soccer, guitar, and hiking.

Alex joined the Southpoint team in December 2014. Prior to that, he worked for PetSmart for 10 years, 5 of those in management. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology. He has a joy for helping animals along with educating people in the care of them. In his spare time, Alex loves to read and lift weights, and enjoys the occasional mud run. He currently has 46 gallon aquarium but does hope to have dogs again in the near future.

After working in fields ranging from art/design, medical, management and customer service, Bethany combined her work experience with her love of animals and joined Banfield in February 2018. Originally from Iowa, she grew up surrounded by animals big and small. Bethany studied photography and graphic design at the University of Iowa before moving to North Carolina four years ago. She has three dogs that keep her busy and if she's not adventuring with them and a camera outdoors, she is probably curled up with them and a book or in the kitchen pretending she can cook.

Jane is a third year veterinary student at North Carolina State University. She is happy to work in a cat-friendly practice that emphasizes low-stress handling, and creating a comfortable and safe space. She is interested in holistic medicine and is currently in the process of getting her acupuncture certification from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. She is both fluent in English and Korean, and hopes to create an awareness on the importance of preventive care to the Asian demographic. Jane has two lovely cats that she rescued, Illy and Willow, and a freshwater tank that is constantly being upgraded.

Ashley started working at Banfield in 2019. Ashley was born in DC but now lives in North Carolina and studies Biology at UNC-Chapel Hill. Ashley’s love for animals has always been present but realized she wanted to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine when she interned at the Carolina Raptor Center. After graduating, Ashley hopes to apply to Veterinary school and work with wildlife rehabilitation. Ashley currently volunteers at the Duke Lemur center in her free time. Kammie has been with Banfield since the summer of 2018. She was born and raised in New York City, and started her career with Banfield at a New York location. She moved to Morrisville, North Carolina in the beginning of 2019. She has 3 dogs including a pit bull mix named Harley, a Chihuahua mix named Murphy, and a fiest mix named Kai. In addition to her dog pack, she has a 6-year-old sun conure named Taco. In her free time, Kammie enjoys watching Fixer Upper, driving with some great music, and going to the farmers market.

He graduated with a B.S. degree in education from the College of Charleston in 2007, a M.A. degree in classics from Texas Tech University in 2015, and is currently writing his dissertation for a PhD in classical archaeology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Brandon has been married to his wife, Jennifer, since October 2009 and currently has 4 dogs ranging from all sizes: a blue Great Dane named Peppermint, a bassett hound named Darla, a rat terrier named Violet, and a poodle/schnauzer mix named Gracie.
