    Dr. Elizabeth Broome

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Broome received her B.S. in animal science and nutrition from North Carolina State University in 1987 before moving directly on to the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine; graduating with her doctoral degree in 1991. She recently returned to practice with Banfield after spending 15 years of her career specializing in spay/neuter surgery and wellness services. Dr. Broome also focused a large portion of her career to exotic animal medicine and surgery, and therefore has extensive experience with exotics and wildlife. She enjoys spending time kayaking, motorcycling and spoiling her French bulldogs along with her husband, Don, and daughter, Maylin. More Details >>

    Dr. Melissa Ezell

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Ezell is passionate about building and nurturing relationships with pets and people in her community, so she can provide exceptional animal healthcare and make a difference a few paw prints at a time. Her special veterinary interests include nutrition, soft tissue surgery, and ophthalmology. She is a dedicated runner, weight lifter, wife, and has a golden retriever named Memphis and a Siamese mix named Chianina. Some of Dr. Ezell's favorite indulgences include coffee, craft beer, and Auburn football. Her educational background includes a B.S. in zoology with a German minor from Auburn University, and a DVM with business certification from University of Florida. Dr. Ezell joined Banfield in July 2017 grateful for an amazing opportunity to touch lives and share in the love and laughter pet ownership brings, and she can't wait to meet you and your pets!     Derrick Turner

    Practice Manager

    Derrick has worked in the veterinary industry for over 6 years, all of them with Banfield. He started as a vet tech, but became a practice manager roughly 4 years ago. He enjoys the educational part of his job, speaking with clients about preventive care, dental health and parasite control, and making sure that each pet is completely taken care of. With his time away from work, Derrick spends time gardening, cooking and generally spending time with his wife, son, young daughter and 2 dogs. More Details >>

    Andrea was born in Rapid City, SD - the home of the great Black Hills. She has 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 children, and a special baby we call Ladybug. Andrea has over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine including experience with large, small and exotic animals. Being from SD, she has had the pleasure and experience of performing veterinary care on such animals as mountain lions, black bears, kangaroos, pigs, cattle and even reptiles.     Registered Veterinary Technician

    Karen grew up in Mooresville, NC and graduated with a B.S. degree in chemistry from Elon University in 2009. She volunteered at the Mooresville Banfield location in 2011 and has been with the company ever since! She enjoys veterinary medicine so much that she went on to graduate with a degree in veterinary medical technology from CCCC in 2014. She has worked at four other Banfield locations over the years and transferred to the Cornelius Banfield in May 2018. She lives in Huntersville with her husband, Daniel, and their two cats, Felicity and Sophie.     Suzanne Voll

    Veterinary Assistant

    Suzanne is originally from Boston and had been living in Florida just prior to moving to the Charlotte area in March 2018. She has been in the veterinary field for ten years, starting as a receptionist and furthering her knowledge base to become a veterinary technician. Suzanne has worked exclusively in academic and specialty hospitals for the last four years, including time spent at the University of Florida Teaching Hospital in the small animal surgery department. She followed with a stint in veterinary oncology at a specialty private practice in southwest Florida before returning to work with a surgery department until her relocation to NC. Suzanne is currently working to complete her coursework for her CVT license. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her two rescue dogs, Ella and Quincy Patrick, watching football (especially the Patriots), hiking, and reading. More Details >>

    Sharon was born and raised in Brunswick, Maine, and moved to NC with her husband, Bob, and daughter, Nikki, to get away from the harsh winters. She has 2 cats at home, Moosie and Miley, and has worked at Banfield Cornelius since September 2017. Sharon has enrolled in the Penn Foster online Veterinary Technician program and is very excited about this since working with pets is her dream job!!! More Details >>

    Becca is new to North Carolina having recently moved after completing her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland. She has three dogs named Bella, Harlie, and Lexi, and would adopt many more if she could. Her dream is to become a speech pathologist but feels lucky that she gets to work with animals while she finishes graduate school. Outside of work and school, Becca enjoys hiking, exercising, baking, photography and spending time with her family.
