    Dr. Rebecca Davis


    Dr. Davis graduated from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and has been with Banfield since 2012. She loves getting cases that require problem solving and feels accomplished when she sees sick pets return healthy and happy again. You may hear her talk often about her son, but she also has 2 dogs, Daisy and Willow, and 3 cats, Jasmine, Violet and Olive. She recently bought a fixer-upper and spends a lot of her time outside of work doing DIY projects to make it her dream home. She’s a Carolina Panthers fan, loves country music, and Italian food, and finds her getaways with family on Kerr Lake or along the Outer Banks. Currently, she’s learning more about behavioral modifications and medication to help decrease pet stress at vet visits so she can provide the best care and comfort for our patients! More Details >>

    Dr. Zakiya Mudiwa


    Dr. Z has been with Banfield for 9 years and graduated from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine. She’s currently searching for her next pup! Her passion for providing quality pet care includes finding ways to better educate pet parents. She feels accomplished when pet lives are improved thanks to the partnership between vet and client. Outside of work, Dr. Z stays busy by trying out new bars and restaurants in the Charlotte area, discovering local music, and traveling around the world! She loves to laugh while listening to Trevor Noah or watching Family Guy, but her guilty pleasure is watching a marathon of Snapped. Her favorite team is the Golden State Warriors and of all the places she’s been, South Africa was her favorite so far.     Dr. McKenzie has been with Banfield for about 2 years. She has 3 kitties named Stryker, Nutmeg, and Mackenzie (don’t ask!). She has a background with both shelter and emergency medicine, and enjoys sharing her love of pets with all the patients she sees. A child at heart, Dr. McKenzie loves watching superhero movies and riding horses, even though she doesn’t know how to saddle one! She loves family and is originally from Jamaica where she enjoys visiting. You may hear her singing along to Rihanna and eating anything spicy both at work or out and about while exploring the growing food scene that Charlotte offers. More Details >>

    Practice Manager

    KayOnna has been working for Banfield for a total of 7 years. She received her MBA from Hamlin University and hopes to become an acquisition hospital trainer. While she does wish for kids one day, her pets include 2 dogs named Kobe and Khaled. She loves Beyonce, the Little Mermaid, and Grey’s Anatomy, and enjoys these guilty pleasures on her days off with a glass of wine in hand. At work, she can be found snuggling with pit bull or cocker spaniel puppies, but only when she’s not too busy being our motivational problem-solver. Her fun fact is that she grew up in Iowa, but loves to be near the water. Even though she is the leader of our veterinary hospital, she does have a fear of needles! More Details >>

    Shift Lead

    Jody has a long history of working with animals, but started working for Banfield in 2018 and received her vet tech degree from Greenville Technical College. She has a dog named Norman Eugene as well as a cat named Luna Tuna. At work, her favorite things include assisting with surgeries and preventive care. Outside of work, she can be found enjoying hiking, photography, traveling, and beer drinking at her husband’s brewery! Originally from Florida, Jody roots for the Miami Hurricanes and loves to vacation in nearby Puerto Rico. Despite this, her favorite season is fall and her go-to movie is Hocus Pocus. At one point she thought she might end up working in the forensics department, but now her aspirations include creating a travel blog and hiking the Appalachian Trail! More Details >>


    Veterinary Assistant

    Kyren has been with us since April 2019. He has a background in animal care, including boarding and grooming, that have aided him in his transition to veterinary medicine. At home, he enjoys spending time with his dog, Sasha, and loves to see movies, do outdoor activities, and pursue his passion for modeling. He is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program and loves expanding his veterinary knowledge. His favorite color is green and his favorite animals are big cats.     Veterinary Assistant

    McClellan, who also goes by Clell, has been with Banfield since 2016. She started as a CSC before becoming cross-trained as a Veterinary Assistant which she now works as full time. She is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program and hopes to work towards ending animal homelessness. She previously worked in a cat exclusive hospital, so she enjoys working with feline patients the most. She also has 2 cats at home, Oliver and Colt. Outside of work, Clell enjoys cheering on the Carolina Panthers, listening to the Jonas Brothers, and watching the Office or Friends on Netflix. Her favorite foods are tacos and anything chocolate.     Veterinary Assistant

    Orlando has been with Banfield for 4 years. He has 2 pets at home, a dog named Bobby and a cat named Chester. He enjoys ensuring pets get the best care they can when they come to see us. He is originally from Puerto Rico, where he started his career in veterinary medicine, and brought both his medical skills and bilingual ability to our hospital. On off days, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, playing video games, and eating all the foods! His favorite song is Reclamation by Lamb of God and his favorite animal is the Komodo dragon. Despite being from the tropics, his favorite season is winter, even the little bit we get here in NC.     Christine, originally from California, relocated to Charlotte from Maine. She holds a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in education. Prior to Banfield, Christine was a high school science teacher. She has been with Banfield since 2009! In her spare time, Christine enjoys hiking in the NC mountains with her husband, Anthony, and her German Shepherd mix, Hannah. She also enjoys being at home with her daughter, Tahlia.     Part-time Veterinary Assistant

    Taylor has been with Banfield about 2 years. She’s currently in school full-time working towards her degree and hopes to become a nurse or veterinarian in the future. She’s an avid animal lover and currently has a pup named Kaiya. She enjoys the positivity being around animals gives her, which helps fuel her passion for veterinary medicine. Taylor loves the weather that Charlotte has, but enjoys fall the most. Her favorite foods include seafood and anything with Oreos in it.     Rhonda is a shift lead for our CSC side of the hospital. She has been with Banfield for 17 and a half years! With all of her knowledge about the field, she loves helping out all the pets that come through our doors. She also enjoys engaging with clients and helping them have a great experience. At home, she has 2 dogs including a three-legged poodle named Muzic and a new beagle puppy named Maddie. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her grandchild and relaxing with activities such as crocheting and cooking. She loves music by Prince and even used to sing in a group!     TamRhan, who goes by Tam, started working at Banfield a little over a year ago. Her love of medicine and animals came together when she moved to the Charlotte area, and has since gotten a puppy named Oakley Chase. During down time, she can be found watching Schitt’s Creek and listening to Kelly Clarkson. During her not-so-down time, she loves to exercise and run in her neighborhood. Tam has aspirations to become a nurse practitioner and works in the human medical field when she’s not at our hospital. She is a die-hard Crimson Tide fan and lover of puppies and elephants.     Melanie has been with Banfield for a year. She has 3 pets at home, but still loves seeing new puppies at work. She would love to pursue a career teaching special needs kids and can also speak 3 languages! At home, she likes watching exciting shows such as Stranger Things and her favorite movie is Avengers: Endgame. Her favorite animal is a dolphin, but her favorite sports team is the New York Giants.     Cecilia has been with Banfield for about 5 years. She recently obtained her MBA and has big plans for the future including her dream to become a homeowner and travel the world. Both in and outside of work, she enjoys petting all the puppies and one day wants to have her own that she can take hiking and exploring. She’s a self-described adrenaline junkie and despite having Puerto Rican heritage, her guilty pleasure is Mexican food.
