Dr. Jenna Chavez
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Jenna Chavez was born and raised in Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Central Florida before attending St. George's University for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical year at the University of Florida and joined the Banfield Charlotte team in January 2013. Dr. Chavez lives in Dilworth with her two labs, Luke and Cooper, and enjoys spending her free time playing trivia with friends, running and hiking with her dogs, and watching football in the fall. Dr. Katherine Higgins
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Katherine Higgins was born and raised in Seattle, WA. She attended the University of Rochester in upstate New York where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in ecology and evolutionary biology. After college, she went back to Seattle for two years and became a Licensed Veterinarian Technician before attending The Ohio State University for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, Dr. Higgins joined the Banfield SouthPark family in June of 2017 with an interest in dentistry and preventive medicine. Dr. Higgins enjoys spending time exploring the city, playing sand volleyball, and hiking with her husky mix, Bolt.

Practice Manager
Ben was raised in Sugar Land, TX and relocated to Matthews, NC in 2015 with his wife and 2 children. He's always had a love for soccer, food, and animals. He spent 13 years as a manager with PetSmart in the San Antonio and Houston markets, and made the switch to Banfield in 2016 and has loved every minute of it. In his free time, Ben gardens, plays soccer, cooks, and travels.

Veterinary Assistant
Cecilia was born in Mexico and raised in the states, living in and out of Charlotte for about 8 years. She has 2 cats and 2 dogs, and is currently working on finishing her Veterinary Technician classes at Gaston College. In her spare time, she loves hanging out with family, reading, writing, hiking, and taking care of her animals and others. Cecilia also loves cars and building them.

Veterinary Assistant
Allyson is from Fayetteville, NC but was raised in Seattle, WA. She moved back to the Carolinas in 2008 to be closer to her family. Allyson's love and passion for animals is what led her to start her career with Banfield in 2017 as a veterinary assistant. She has a special interest in taking the extra time to build relationships with pets to help ease the anxiety associated with visits. In her spare time, she enjoys working on cars, doing DIY projects and outdoor activities with her 8-year-old son, and visiting her local Starbucks.

Veterinary Assistant
Abbigail was born and raised in Arizona and just recently relocated to the Charlotte area with her husband and two kitties, Sooner and Westin. Abbigail has been a certified veterinary assistant since 2015 and has been with Banfield since 2017. She has always had a passion for helping animals and grew up around veterinary clinics where sometimes her mom would take her work home and help rehabilitate injured puppies, kittens, lambs, or really anything with four legs and fur! In her free time, she loves to go on hiking adventures, practice yoga, or have lazy days watching Netflix with her husband and kitties.

Veterinary Assistant
Vanessa was born and raised on Marco Island, FL. She and her boyfriend, Jeff, relocated to the Charlotte, NC area in August 2018. Vanessa studied ecology and wildlife conservation at the University of Florida and has volunteered at humane societies, wildlife sanctuaries, and wildlife rehabilitation centers in SW Florida. She began her career with Banfield in 2017 working as a veterinary assistant/shift lead, and quality medicine and care are paramount to her. Vanessa enjoys working on her cars, road-tripping, mountain biking, and camping with her boyfriend and two dogs, Enkei and Laska. She also enjoys reading and Netflixing with her cat, Kahlua.

Cassie was born in Waterville, Maine and hasn't really lived in one place for too long but moved to Charlotte in August of 2018. She is studying to be a veterinary technician at Gaston College and will hopefully graduate in 2021. She has always wanted to work with animals but at one time, thought she wanted to be a journalist because she enjoyed writing stories and she loves to read. She has a grey cat named Benny and a white bunny named Winter.
