    Dr. Sitaram Parvateneni

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Parvateneni, Dr. Sita for short, started working for Banfield in 2011, after working at our Manchester location he arrived at South City in 2012. He attended N.G. Ranga Agricultural University in India and upon obtaining his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, moved to the United States to work towards his master’s degree in immunology. He decided after four years of immunology research at Michigan State University, he was missing something...PETS! This is what led him to us, and we have been very grateful to have him here. When he is not high-fiving the South City staff and saving lives, he is visiting Niagara Falls, sharing his spicy food or hanging out at home with his wife, Vani, daughter, Aarna, kitty, Jooju and Labrador, Starlee.     Dr. Kristen Wischmann

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Wischmann joined Banfield in 2011. She grew up in nearby South County until attending Truman State University for her double undergraduate degree in biology. After interning at a Big Cat Sanctuary in Arkansas, some graduate school in New Mexico, and shelter work back in Saint Louis, she thought it time to attend veterinary school. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2011. Her fourth year she received the H. Richard Adams Scholarship in Veterinary Medicine for demonstrating exceptional interest and understanding of the human-animal bond, which remains her favorite part of her job. Her specific interests include managing aging pets, canine and feline dentistry, and internal medicine. She loves to spend her free time with her husband, Derek, daughter, Hazel, son, Walter, Hannah the cat, 2 bunnies, and 2 birds. More Details >>

    Dr. Jean Puccinelli

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Puccinelli joined the South City Banfield in 2015. She grew up in Wisconsin until she left to attend St Louis University (SLU) and received her undergraduate degree. From there, she left for Ohio State and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Her favorite part of her work day is snuggling all of the pets we see and singing to them throughout the day. She is especially passionate about our smaller breeds and dachshunds as she has one of her own. Her hobby is Irish dancing, which she was involved in for 17 years. In her free time, Dr. Puccinelli loves spending time with her husband, Stephen, and their pets, a dachshund named Penny, a kitty named Marco and turtle, Stewart. More Details >>

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Mitchener joined the South City Banfield in 2019. She grew up in St. Louis until attending the University of Arkansas for her undergraduate degree. Afterwards, she moved back to Missouri where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri. Her passions in veterinary medicine include general surgery, emergency medicine, neurology, and canine rehabilitation. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, reading, and hanging out with her three dogs, Django (a shepherd mix), Leroy (a French bulldog), and Thor (a Saint Bernard). More Details >>

    Dr. Samantha Starr

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Starr joined the South City Banfield team in 2019. She grew up in a small town in western Pennsylvania, where most of her family still resides. Dr. Starr attended Westminster College for her undergraduate education and was a biology major with a music minor. She discovered her passion for veterinary medicine after shadowing at a veterinary clinic during her junior year of college. She attended the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2019. In her free time, Dr. Starr participates in the Affton community band (playing flute) and enjoys reading fantasy novels. She and her husband, David, love snuggling their cuddly cat, Prince, and playing with their spunky cat, Sarge. More Details >>

    Angel has been working for Banfield Pet Hospital since December 2012. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College with an associate's degree in veterinary technology and has been a licensed veterinary technician since 2013. She has two cats including one lucky black cat (Titten) and one very lucky black and white cat (Lindy). Lindy got her name because she was found in the middle of Lindbergh Blvd in Florissant as a small kitten.     Sam has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 2015 and previously worked in emergency care for a year before coming to Banfield. Her favorite dog breed is pit bull and she currently has two of her own, Halle and Nala, along with a bearded dragon named Pebbles. Her passion for veterinary care is in emergency, client education, and parasitology.     Alex has been with Banfield for 3 years after graduating from Vatterott College as a veterinary technician. She has a daughter named Teagan, a dog named Kiki, and a cat named Scarlett. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her boyfriend, family, and friends, and she loves to travel as much as possible.     Morgan has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 2014 and prior to being at Banfield, she worked at a mixed animal practice for roughly 4 years. She loves all animals, but currently only has one cat named Dan. He’s a cuddly, long haired grey tabby who loves chasing water bottle lids around her apartment. Her favorite areas of veterinary medicine include lab work, client education and of course, getting to love on pets all day! She has 5 pets including 2 dogs, Bailey and Guinness; 2 cats, Khaleesi and Castiel; and a snake, the General Patton Slytherie. In 2018, she received an award from her hospital for having the best "pet voice" and wants nothing more than to comfort every pet and give them love while they are here.     Paulette originally started as a petcare manager back in 2010 for PetSmart and transitioned over to Banfield as a CSC in September 2015. She left for a short period of time in 2018 to try human medicine with Mercy and came back to Banfield 9 months later due to her passion for helping animals. She is originally from Puerto Rico and is fluent in English and Spanish. Paulette loves helping all the Spanish speaking clients at the South City hospital and other hospitals as well when needed. She also loves spending time at home with her pets, Onyx (a border collie), Titan (a Labrador retriever), Thor (a pocket pitbull), and Athena (the one only kitty in the house!), as well as her family.
