    Mary Luebbers, DVM

    Chief of Staff

Dr. Luebbers attended undergraduate school at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and veterinary school at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She has been working for Banfield since November 2013, and believes that the best part about being a veterinarian is that she has a career that is also her passion. Her veterinary interests are brachycephalic breeds and surgery. After working outside Banfield, Dr. Luebbers was attracted to the organization because of its focus on preventive care and quality medicine. Client education and continuity of care are two things that she feels are important beyond routine care to really make sure we are extending the life of our pets to the maximum. Dr. Luebbers also has a special interest brachycephalics, specifically bulldogs!! More Details >>

    Melissa Lee, DVM

Dr. Lee graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2009. She pursued veterinary medicine as it combined her interest in science and her love of animals. She joined Banfield in 2010. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is partnering with clients to keep their pets happy and healthy. Dr. Lee’s veterinary interests include: internal medicine, behavior, dentistry, and dermatology. She and her husband share their home with 2 dogs and 1 cat. They work as a team to always keep life interesting. In her spare time, she enjoys family time at the dog park and home renovations. More Details >>

    Claire Norman, DVM

Dr. Norman graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2013 and shortly after joined our Banfield team. She became a veterinarian because she always loved animals, small and large. What she loves most about veterinary medicine is that it allows her to help not only animals, but the people who care for them. She currently has no pets of her own, but she does help care for her parents’ standard poodle, Sydney. She lovingly refers to him as her "puppy brother". In her spare time she loves to participate in aerobics classes, especially Zumba. She also loves horses. More Details >>

    Ellen Smith, DVM

After her undergraduate degree, she worked at an animal hospital in St. Paul for one year before starting veterinary school. She received her veterinary degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2011. Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, nutrition and dentistry. She is also interested in helping pets without homes, and she has volunteered at the Tri County Humane Society in St. Cloud and the Feline Rescue in St Paul.
