Dr. Mohamed Bayomi graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine in Cairo Egypt in 1982 and completed his studies in Tuskegee University. He has practiced with both equine and companion animals, and has been working with small animals in the NOVA area for the last thirteen years. His hobbies include playing soccer and camping, and he has two cats named Lilly and Lollito.

Dr. Mallela has been with the Banfield in Bowie since August 2015. He previous worked at locations in Jacksonville, NC and Detroit, MI. Dr. Mallela currently resides in Germantown, MD. He has attended school in India and Virginia Tech. Dr. Mallela received his PhD from Virginia Tech in 2012. He also performed postdoctoral research at Yale University in New Haven, Ct. He is the owner of an adorable cat named Chari.

Dr. Jamila Echols started with Banfield in January 2011 at the Greenbelt location and then transferred to Bowie in October 2016. She is originally from Norflok, VA and completed her DVM at Tuskegee University in Alabama. She also completed her bachelor's degree in pre-veterinary medicine at Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA. Dr. Echols specializes in exotic animals and loves big breed dogs. She also enjoys playing volleyball and soccer.

Dr. Jasmine Gabriel
Veterinarian
Dr. Gabriel was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. She attended North Carolina A&T State University where she graduated with her bachelor’s in animal science. Upon graduating, she worked at the National Institute of allergies and infectious disease as an animal health technician. Shortly after, she received a job offer as an associate scientist for a pharmaceutical lab. In 2015, she was accepted to her dream school Tuskegee University where she graduated in May 2019 with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She then relocated to Silver Spring, MD with her fiancé, and joined Banfield. When not at work, she enjoys practicing her henna designs, doing yoga, hiking, and going to vegan festivals. She loves cats and her favorite dish is chana marsala. Her favorite country is South America and looks forward to one day visiting Northern Africa.

Kimberly Wallander
Practice Manager
Kimberly started at Banfield in April 2011. She resides in Baltimore (and loves it!), and has two naughty but loveable cats named Lando and Monty. She also fosters a Shiba Inu named Jaxon for an owner that is overseas. In her spare time, Kimberly loves to travel. Her favorite places include Belize, Paris, Italy, Prague, and New Orleans. She also values self-care and mental health, and connects with the homeless to help any way possible in her spare time. She also volunteers with Reading Partners which involves helping elementary school kids improve their reading skills. In addition to these contributions, Kimberly is also a part of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America and enjoys spending time with her little.
