    Dr. Kelly Norris

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Norris earned a bachelor's degree in animal science from the University of New Hampshire in 2004 and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 2009. She began practicing with Banfield in North Carolina following graduation. After 2 years in North Carolina, she moved home to New England and joined the Woburn team. Dr. Norris has a special interest in dentistry, although her favorite aspect of the profession is establishing a lifelong relationship with her patients and their families. She lives at home with her husband and 2 beautiful children, as well as her dog, Beau, and cats, Lucifer, Guyton and Fenway.     Dr. Maria Quiroz


    Dr. Quiroz joined Banfield in August 2015. She grew up in Roseburg, Oregon, and her love for animals started at a young age raising Guide Dogs for the Blind. Dr. Quiroz received a bachelor's degree in animal science and a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine from Oregon State University. She relocated to the Boston area when her significant other, Andres, accepted a post-doctoral position at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Quiroz has a special interest in internal medicine as well as the human animal bond and how client education and learning strengthens this bond. She especially enjoys collaborating with her clients to provide the important individualized care her patients need.     Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar


    Dr. Mukhtar joined Banfield in October 2016. He has a master's degree and PhD in microbiology, as well as a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, all earned from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad in Pakistan. Before joining Banfield, he was a veterinary technician and also worked for Pfizer doing anti-cancer research. He has lived in 3 different countries and 4 states in the U.S. Dr. Mukhtar likes preventive care but has a focused passion on surgery and treating complex illnesses.     Dr. Newman, referred to as Buzz, joined Banfield in August 2006. He received his doctorate from Colorado State University in 1977, and has over 40 years experience with emergency, critical care, dentistry, surgery and preventive care. Buzz has a passion for educating clients on proper pet nutrition, to help pets live healthier, longer lives.     Veronica joined Banfield in 2015 as Practice Manager of the Danvers location and recently transferred to Woburn. Prior to Banfield, she was a PetSalon Manager at PetSmart for 4 years, making pets look and feel great. Wanting to be more involved in the health and well-being of pets, Veronica transitioned to the veterinary field, joining the Banfield family. She has a passion for helping develop her associates and team to their full potential and supporting them in providing quality care to all pets. She has a bachelor's degree in history from Worcester State University. She is a huge Patriots fan and enjoys spending every Sunday, during football season, with her family watching the games.
