Dr. Amanda Smith graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2013. She has been an Associate Veterinarian for Banfield Pet Hospital since graduation and has developed interests in primary care, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. Dr. Smith has 3 pets including Brickley, a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd, Shady, a 9-year-old German Shepherd, and Pedro, a black and white Domestic Shorthair cat. Her interests outside veterinary care include competitive swimming and playing sports, spending time with her family and friends, taking her dogs to the beach, and cooking.

Dr. Rachel Garai is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical veterinary year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and received her Bachelor of Science in pre-veterinary medicine with a minor in international studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before veterinary school, she lived in South Africa working with wildlife as a professional field guide specializing in animal behavior, and the Big Five game species (elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhino). She has 2 pitbull mixes, Nevi (4 years old) and Yzma (3 years old). Her hobbies include beach volleyball, western horseback riding, and hiking with her dogs.
