Dr. Carla Vega de la Cruz
Veterinarian
Dr. Vega earned a bachelor's degree in veterinary technology from University of Puerto Rico before attending and graduating with honors from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She then completed a 1 year medical internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. She practiced with Banfield for a little over a year before joining the Army in 2009. Dr. Vega served as Captain in the Veterinary Corps for 3 years and separated with honorable discharge in 2012. She returned to Texas where she has practiced since. Her primary interests include preventive and internal medicine, public health and supporting the human animal bond. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys crocheting, baking, cooking, and spending time with her husband, 3 young sons, dogs, Neron, Lluvia and Obi, and cat, Dulce.
