Dr. Craig Horowitz
Veterinarian
Dr Horowitz has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 33 years. He received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees at Rutgers University in New Jersey prior to receiving his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at Purdue University in Indiana in 1985. He was born and raised in Rockland County, New York where he met his wife of 30 years and they have a 29-year-old daughter and a 26-year-old son. He enjoys music, movies, trivia, computers, and digital photography. Dr. Horowitz and his family moved down from New York to South Florida in the spring of 1993.

Dr. Eduardo Machado-Achong
Veterinarian
In 1999, Dr. Machado received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the prestigious University of Zulia-College of Veterinary Medicine, Venezuela He successfully completed the National Veterinary Board exams at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and joined the Banfield team in 2016. 2018 marks his 18th year in practice, having broad medical and surgical experience treating dogs and cats. He resides with his wife of 19 years, a daughter and a son in Weston, Fl. His other family members include Sparky (a French poodle), Andrew (a DSH cat) and Max (a Guinea pig). In his free time, Dr. Machado enjoys outdoor sports, horseback riding and attending church activities with his family and friends.

Michele Brooks
Practice Manager
Michele has been in the veterinary field since August of 1992. She quickly discovered her love and passion caring for pets when she took a position as a receptionist at a private practice in Pennsylvania. She trained and worked as a veterinary nurse until she moved to Florida in 2003, where she continued her career as a veterinary assistant. She became a practice manager in January of 2007 which allowed her to continue to develop in the field. She joined Banfield in May 2015 and loves being part of such a wonderful company serving pets and the community with a passion for both. In her spare time, Michele serves as youth minister at her church, running the St. Gregory High School youth group, and she also volunteers in several ministries serving the community.

Nicole Romanov
Shift Lead/Veterinary Assistant
Nicole was born and raised in South Florida and went to college in Orlando earning her A.A. degree from Valencia College in 2007. After college, she spent some time working for Universal Studios in the entertainment/costuming department before moving home to peruse her passion in the veterinary field. She graduated from Miami Dade College in 2012 with an A.S. degree in veterinary technologies. Nicole has been working for Banfield since 2013 and is currently the shift lead at Lauderhill. In her down time, she enjoys art and music, spending time with family, and playing with her two cats, Rajah and Callie.

Maksim Klimuk
Veterinary Assistant
Maksim was born in Vilnius, Lithuania and raised in Parkland, Florida. He loves all animals, especially Siberian huskies and golden retrievers, and has a 4-year-old Siberian husky named Maya. He has worked in the veterinary field since 2013 and joined our team in March of 2018 as a veterinary assistant. When not at work, Max loves to visit amusement parks and go hiking with his four-legged family member.

Luis Sosa
Veterinary Assistant
Luis has been with Banfield since October of 2017 and it felt like home to him from the beginning. He started as a CSC and quickly developed into a veterinary assistant due to his natural ability to work closely with pets. His love for animals has always been a fixture in his life and since he was young, has aided several non-profit rescues. It only seemed right to work for a company whose purpose is to help our furry friends. Luis has 4 dogs (who run his world), 2 guinea pigs, 3 mice, and 4 zebra finches. He has a passion for 3-D art, ceramics, pottery, and sculpture, which he going to school for. He feels that a lot of his work with animals trickles over into his art which gives him a sense of fulfillment and connection between work and what he loves to do.

Raven was born and raised in Harlem, New York and has always had an open heart for animals and their well being. She lives in Lauderhill, FL with her husband, Tito; two daughters, Tia and Tamara; and two sons, Princeton and Praze. Her love and passion caring for pets led to her promotion to veterinary assistant, and she is looking forward to one day attending school to become a certified veterinary technician.
