    Dr. Evelyn Caballero-Quiñones

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Caballero-Quiñones knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico and graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in animal science. She went on to earn her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, Saint Kitts. Dr. Caballero enjoys educating clients as well nurturing her special interest in behavior and dermatology. She is also fully bilingual and loves to practice veterinary medicine in Spanish. In her free time, she loves to spend time outdoors with her husband, three kids and her dog, Susa. Hobbies include cooking for her family, cake decorating and sports. More Details >>

    Melanie Masdea

    Practice Manager

    Melanie earned a bachelor's degree in psychology as well as a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of North Florida. She is currently working on her Veterinary Technician Certification through Penn Foster. She has worked in the veterinary field for 13 years and has been with Banfield for the past 7 years. Melanie is also an avid horseback rider and enjoys the sport of mounted shooting in her spare time. She also has a keen interest in birds and reptiles and enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking and finding sharks teeth on the beach. More Details >>

    McKenna Sammons

    Veterinary Assistant

    McKenna is currently pursuing a degree to become a veterinary technician. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where she joined the US Army Reserves in 2014 and graduated from Smithville High School in 2015. McKenna went to Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson and attended her Advanced Individual Training for Civil Affairs Specialist at Fort Bragg. After graduating AIT, she married her high school sweetheart, Christopher, who joined the Navy in 2014 and stationed at Mayport, Florida. Now, they live in Jacksonville, Florida with their pitbull, Bane; Shiba Inu, Luna; and 2 cats, Lily and Cleopatra. McKenna loves crafts, adventuring and dreams of moving to the Tennessee mountains.     Veterinary Assistant

    Julia is a single mother of 2 wonderful boys, Justin and Cash. Her love for animals started at a young age when she found a stray cat in the woods behind her house. In 2003, she pursed an associate's degree in criminology from Everest University and began her career in the legal field but always felt as though she was meant to help animals. In 2015, she began volunteering at the Jacksonville Humane Society on the weekends. Once she started helping, she knew that was where she was meant to be.     Rachael lived in Virginia most of her life, but grew up in the Army, moving around every other year. She moved to Florida 2 years ago with her dogs, a black lab named Sarah, and a lovable mutt named Lady. Rachael has been into sports her whole life including basketball, gymnastics, track, and cheerleading, and loves to take her dogs to the beach as often as she can. More Details >>

    Robin Rudnicki

    Veterinary Assistant

    Robin has been with Banfield since 2002, in many roles at many hospitals, but is currently a veterinary assistant. She enjoys being able to visit and work at other Banfield locations as she enjoys meeting new team members that share the same passion for helping pets and pet parents. She moved to Jacksonville Beach from Ormond Beach about 2 1/2 years ago and loves being near the ocean. Robin has 2 rescue dogs, Rogue and Dozer, and a 16-year-old snake named Lestat. In her free time, she enjoys kayak fishing, volunteering for several local non profit groups, and cooking fancy food at home.     Rebecca has been with Banfield on and off since 2014, and graduated from Sanford Brown with a degree in veterinary technology. She enjoys working out, and playing with her pets: Michelangelo (canine), Appa (canine) and Shredder (Feline), when she isn't study for her certifications.     Savanna is a Jacksonville native who joined the Banfield team in 2018. She is currently working towards her degree in environmental technology at Florida State College of Jacksonville. She previously worked at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens exploring her love for education and animals, and was part of the Marine Mammal Response team and volunteered with manatee rehabilitation. In her free time, Savanna enjoys singing karaoke, spending time outdoors with her dog, Marley Moo, and playing the ukulele. More Details >>

    Client Service Coordinator

    Keersten has been in the veterinary field for 30 years and has held positions in almost every aspect of the business from technician to office management. She earned a degree in animal science from UMO in 1993 and was the operations manager for a humane society for 10 years before returning to Florida and starting with a small animal practice. She has a deep love of all animals but her favorite companions are her 2 dogs, Jack and Isabelle. In her spare time, Keersten enjoys camping and going to the beach with her son, Kam. More Details >>
