Dr. Angela Malczyn
Veterinarian
Dr. Malczyn graduated from veterinary school at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park. She lives in Washington DC with her boyfriend and their two pets: a Jack Russell terrier mix named Topaz and a Sphynx cat named Periwrinkle (aka Rinky). When not at work, Dr. Malczyn loves being active and spending time outdoors; she enjoys running, practicing yoga, skiing, and traveling. Her professional interests include feline medicine, dentistry, and geriatric care, and she is very passionate about preventive care and the veterinary-client-patient relationship. She is Fear Free Certified and would love to make veterinary care less stressful for your pet and you. Sending a happy and healthy patient home to a loving family brings her joy in the profession. She cannot wait to meet you and your pet(s)!

Dr. Erica McFarland
Veterinarian
Dr. McFarland joined the Banfield family in 2013, and has always had a passion for the medical field and a love for animals. Her desire to help animals was the main motivator in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. McFarland attended Virginia Tech for her undergraduate degree in animal and poultry science with a minor in biology. She continued her education by attending Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and developed a strong interest in pathology and dermatology. She loves being a veterinarian most by making new relationships with pets and their owners. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, and traveling. She has a a 10-year-old cane corso named Natalia, and is excited to meet you and your pet!

Jarrod Watson
Practice Manager
Jarrod joined the Banfield family in February 2015 and helped open the South Riding, Virginia hospital location. In December 2015, he was promoted to shift lead at South Riding. Jarrod attended the University of South Florida and initially went to school for human medicine before transitioning into veterinary medicine. In November of 2017, Jarrod was chosen as one of 7 individuals from the Mars Global company across the world to participate in the Mars Ambassador program to provide care to pets in need. He has a huge interest in rehabilitation, physical therapy and senior pet care. Jarrod is Fear Free Certified and is dedicated to providing a safe and stress free visit for each client and their pet. He currently lives in Arlington, Virginia with his Pomeranian dog, Kai. He spends a lot of time with Kai taking him on trips and for hiking adventures in Great Falls.

Natalie
Shift Lead
Natalie first started with Banfield at the nearby Bethesda location in May 2015, but her passion for pets began well before that. She enjoys showing the same love and care to patients as she shows to her own senior puggle, Georgia. Since kindergarten, Natalie grew up in Kensington, MD and considers herself a DC area native with a southern flare as she was born in Georgia and raised by two parents from Savannah, GA (Go Dawgs!). In her free time, Natalie enjoys painting and drawing, exploring DC neighborhoods, relaxing and spending time with her boyfriend. Her favorite books are the Harry Potter series and Jane Austen. Natalie cannot wait to provide quality care to your furry family.

Veterinary Technician
Christyne joined Banfield in 2019 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). She has been an LVT for the past 16 years and absolutely loves what she does! Chistyne moved to the DC area from New York where she worked at North Shore Animal League for 8 years, along with owning her own pet sitting business. She has 3 dogs (Mocha, Kashi and Sasha). She knew that she wanted to work with animals from the time that she was a child and says that it's one of the best decisions that she's made! Chistyne is excited to share her expertise and compassion with you and your pet!

Veterinary Assistant
Diamond graduated from Virginia State University with a B.S. degree in pre-veterinary medicine. She knew from the time she was in middle school that she wanted an occupation in handling animals. She is a Washingtonian born and raised! Diamond has 4 cats (Cookie, May, June and Marz) and a dog (Lincoln). In her free time, she enjoys walking in parks, longboarding and biking with her brother, playing video games and watching anime. She deeply cares about all animals, big and small while providing proper care to your pets.

Brittany joined Banfield in 2019, but is no stranger to the company. Her mother worked for Banfield and was even a client service coordinator as well! She is currently working on completing her bachelor's degree in biology at Morgan State University in Maryland. In her free time, Brittany enjoys meditation through music and relaxing. She is excited to be at the DC Adams Morgan hospital and looking forward to caring for your pets.
