Dr. Mark Ryan
Veterinarian
Dr. Ryan is a native-born son of the Grand Valley. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 1987, and trained as a mixed animal practitioner but slotted into small animal medicine and surgery over the next few years. After doing relief work and working as an associate for 2 practices, Dr. Ryan started Redstone Veterinary Hospital in 1995. In 2005, he was instrumental in starting the Grand Valley Veterinary Emergency Center, the first veterinary emergency facility in the Grand Valley. In 2009, Dr. Ryan built the new, state-of-the-art Redstone Veterinary Hospital II and in 2016, he merged with Banfield Pet Hospital. Dr. Ryan enjoys life with his wife, Karen, children, Emma and Jack, Italian Spinone, Franchesca, and black cat, Mao. He relaxes by hiking with his rifle, and wading in streams, rivers and ocean with his fly rod. He usually returns empty-handed but is loaded with memories.

Dr. Mindy Basham
Veterinarian
A native of Grand Junction, Dr. Basham received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University. After practicing in Montana, she returned to Colorado to continue small animal general practice and has been with Redstone since 2011. Dr. Basham enjoys helping people and their pets, and is very happy to be in a practice than can offer excellent care. She has a special interest in internal medicine and ultrasound. When outside the hospital, Dr. Basham enjoys spending time with her 3 kids and 3 dogs, exercising and doing outdoor activities.

Dr. Melissa Molinaro
Veterinarian
Dr. Molinaro's love of animals made veterinary medicine the obvious choice but it was not until the completion of her Bachelor of Science degree at Towson University, and her acquired love of science and research, which made this goal obtainable. She graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 and she has special interests in internal medicine, dermatology and ultrasound. Dr. Molinaro enjoys challenging surgical cases and aspires to develop in endoscopy and laparoscopic procedures. She came to Grand Junction 3 years ago with her husband, dog (Roscoe) and 2 cats (Stormy and Heather), and since moving here, their daughter, Adeline, was born. Their family enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, snow shoeing, biking and rafting, and the Western Slope is the perfect place for outdoor love.

Dr. Laura Keith
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Keith graduated from Texas A&M in 2010. Prior to that, she went to St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas and played goalie for the women's soccer team. When she isn't working, she enjoys traveling, yoga and spending time with her husband and son. The Keith's will be adding another little boy to their family in November 2017.

Katy Sumner, CVT
Practice Manager
Katy graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute with an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Over the years, she has moved around quite a bit and experienced many different work environments. She is pleased to say that Redstone practices very high quality medicine. Katy and her family settled in the Grand Valley about 2 years ago and couldn't be happier! She is married with 2 kids and 2 old lady Chihuahuas. She has always been known as the Chihuahua girl!

Nicki graduated from Colorado Mesa University with her bachelor's degree in sports management in 2012. When not working, Nicki enjoys playing softball and working with the local minor league baseball team "The Grand Junction Rockies". Aleta is a native of Colorado, born and raised in Montrose. She moved to Grand Junction over 10 years ago to work at St. Mary's Hospital. Although her background is in human medicine, specifically cardiac, it was always her dream to work in veterinary medicine. She has been working with animals for 2 years. When not taking care of pets, Aleta enjoys water sports, fishing, camping and hiking with her family.
