    Dr. Elizabeth Sagen

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Elizabeth Sagen graduated from Colorado State University in 2013. She enjoys providing preventive health care and surgical services for pets of all ages, and particularly likes to discuss socialization and training at new puppy visits to set the foundation for a long and happy life with their owners. Outside of work, Dr. Sagen enjoys spending time with her husband and infant daughter, two dogs, cat, and horse. She is also an avid trail runner. More Details >>

    Dr. Dorna Khamsi

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Dorna Khamsi is a graduate of Colorado State University's Professional Veterinary Medicine program, but practiced in Las Vegas, Nevada prior to moving back to Fort Collins and joining Banfield in the Fall of 2016. While she loves all animals, she has a special affinity for working with dogs and cats, and really understands the special bond owners have with their pets. Dr. Khamsi enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Kevin, and their dogs, Afie, Penny, and Mayson, and kitty, Abbie.     Dr. Danielle Lagana

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Danielle Lagana is a 2013 graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary Medical School. As a veterinary student, she was awarded Merial and Morris Animal Foundation grants to study infectious disease in wild and domestic cats. Dr. Lagana joined Banfield in Bozeman, Montana in 2013 and transferred to the Fort Collins location in 2015. She loves Fort Collins and is thrilled to serve the community as a small animal veterinarian. Her professional interests include internal medicine, preventive care, and dentistry. She enjoys promoting the human-animal bond by partnering with pet owners during all life-stages of their dog or cat. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys skiing, backpacking, cycling, crossfit, and spending time with her growing family and their 10-year-old Aussie Shepherd mix. More Details >>

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Kristen Walker is a 2017 graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary Medical School and practiced in Windsor, CO before joining Banfield in the Fall of 2018. She is originally from Dallas, TX and spent 10 years in Las Vegas, NV working in commercial real estate lending and mortgage banking before deciding to pursue her lifelong passion of becoming a veterinarian. Her professional interests include preventive care, behavior, and pain management, and she is passionate about low-stress handling and making the visit for your pet as stress-free as possible! Dr. Walker and her husband, Mike, rescue senior dogs, and their family currently consists of 2 basset hounds, a lab, a pit bull mix, a hound mix, a dachshund, and 3 cats. More Details >>

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Fennema was born and raised in West Michigan, a place that will always hold a very dear spot in his heart. He graduated as a veterinarian from Michigan State University in 2016, and moved to Fort Collins, CO with his fiancé, who is in her final year of residency in veterinary anatomic pathology at Colorado State University. His professional interests include preventive care and dental health; he truly believes an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Dr. Fennema has always loved playing basketball and cycling but since moving to Colorado, he has developed a passion for hiking and the outdoors.     Practice Manager

    Kristina is originally from Milwaukee, WI and moved to Fort Collins in 2000 with her family. She graduated with an Associate of Science degree from Front Range Community College and then transferred to Colorado State University in 2012. Kristina graduated from CSU with a B.S. degree in zoology where she also worked in research for 4 years before coming to Banfield in Fort Collins.     Cassidy Clendenning, CVT

    Veterinary Technician

    Cassidy was born in Fort Collins, CO and moved around between Wyoming and Colorado for most of her childhood, mostly on ranches, until she moved to Alaska with her family around December of 2005. There she lived for 10 years until she finally had enough and moved back to Colorado in 2016 to pursue her college career. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree from Front Range Community College in August of 2017 and started her CVT career at a private practice clinic that December. She has a passion for exotic pets with an aspiration to specialize in exotic pet community practice or zoology, and has a collection of reptiles herself at home as well as 2 dogs. If she wasn't a CVT she would have likely gone into photography for a career but still pursues it as a hobby.     Hannah is from a small town in southern New Hampshire. She earned an associate's degree in veterinary technology from Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs back in 2016, and is currently a student at Colorado State University hoping to someday become a veterinarian. Some of her hobbies include drawing, dancing, playing the piano and hanging around the house with her two dogs, Chanel and Lola!     Kyle has been a veterinary assistant for almost seven years. He started his career working for a small animal private practice outside of Philadelphia, PA. He has an associate's degree in liberal arts and is currently working on a bachelor's degree in biology. When not taking care of all the wonderful pets that come through Banfield's doors, Kyle loves staying active at the gym and going for runs. On quieter days, he'll plant himself in front of his high-powered gaming PC. He has 2 pets including a husky named Amiyah, and Panthera (Pan for short), a 10-ish year old domestic shorthair cat.     Rachel was born in Salisbury, MD (not to be confused with Salisbury steak) but has lived in Fort Collins for several years. While interning at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, she saw a job post for a veterinary assistant at Banfield and decided to apply. Guess what? It WORKED! When she was a kid, she told her parents she wanted to grow up and live with wolves. This statement still holds true to this day.     Cheyenne grew up in Santa Clarita, CA and moved to Fort Collins in 2016, beginning her adventure at Banfield in January 2017. She also work at CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital as an equine veterinary technician. Cheyenne has worked in both large and small animal hospitals, and her favorite part of veterinary medicine is dentistry! She loves meeting all of our clients' pets and being able to help and comfort them during their stay at the hospital.     Erin moved here from Michigan about a year ago and has been at Banfield ever since. She is currently finishing her bachelor's in psychology and marketing while also finishing her veterinary assistant certificate. She has a miniature pincher named Captain and an Akita/Shepard mix named Snickers. Erin grew up with cats and dogs and can't imagine life without them.     Veterinary Assistant

    Max is originally from Falcon, CO and moved to Fort Collins in 2014 to attend Colorado State University for his biology degree after receiving his associate's degree in Colorado Springs. His passion for animal care started at 4 years old when he would spend time on his uncle's ranch, who was a large animal veterinarian, and help him provide the care the animals needed. Max started off as an animal daycare and kennel attendant where he then worked his way to a veterinary assistant position. He began his veterinary assistant career at Banfield in September of 2017 at the Longmont, CO location and recently moved to the Fort Collins hospital in the Summer of 2018.     Jesse is a native Arizonan, who spend the last 4 years in Florida. He has been in veterinary medicine for the last 20+ years in a variety of specialty roles. He originally joined the Banfield family in 2012, but left to expand his skills at the University of Florida and other specialty practices in Florida, with the ultimate goal of returning to Banfield. His wife just completed veterinary school at the University of Florida and has taken clinical pathology residency at CSU. He is excited to join this practice and enjoys the Colorado life.     Lauren Swanson

    Client Service Coordinator

    Lauren started her animal career cleaning horse and cattle stalls at CSU's veterinary teaching hospital. She has interned at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, a local wolf hybrid sanctuary, and helped hand raise baby parrots for adoption. After graduating with a B.S. degree in zoology from Colorado State University, she spent a few years in Idaho working with black bears and elk. She joined the Banfield family in December 2018 and has found watching our new puppies grow up to be one of the highlights of the job. She has plans to pursue a veterinary technician certification with Banfield and maybe, in the far future, join a medical team at one of the zoos in the area. Lauren's personal zoo includes an Australian cattle dog mix, Ranger; a fire skink, Flynn; a green tree python, O.D.; and a red-eyed tree frog named Forrest. More Details >>
