    Courtney McDonald, DVM

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Courtney McDonald joined Banfield Pet Hospital in June 2009 and in 2010, she moved from an associate doctor to a market level Medical Director. At the market level, Dr. McDonald provided support for over 30 veterinarians and 16 hospital teams. She rejoined her current hospital as Chief of Staff in November 2012. Dr. McDonald is a 2004 graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also has a Bachelor of Science in animal and dairy science from Mississippi State Universiy. Dr. McDonald enjoys spending her spare time with her husband, 4 dogs, and 2 cats. She appreciates all that Colorado has to offer and enjoys hiking and fishing in her time away from veterinary medicine. More Details >>

    Justyn Rizzardi, DVM

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Rizzardi was born and raised in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, with one brother and one sister. He obtained his undergraduate Bachelors of Science degree from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA and then went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Post graduation, he moved to Colorado Springs to start his veterinary career, and joined Banfield Pet Hospital in Colorado Springs in 2009. Dr. Rizzardi is an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, attending at least one game per year in person and watching as many other games as possible. His other interests include fantasy football, hiking, video games, and of course, saving lives. More Details >>

    Genevieve Grammer, DVM

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Genevieve Grammer started with Banfield in September 2013, and has a double major in chemistry and animal science with an equine management emphasis. During her undergraduate career, Dr. Grammer spent a semester in Germany conducting research projects with the Hannover Veterinary School and studying zoonotic diseases. She attended veterinary school at Ross University and the University of Missouri, and additionally completed a week internship in Costa Rica at a spay/neuter/humane facility and a month of conservation work in South Africa with various wildlife. In her spare time, Dr. Grammer volunteers with Front Range Equine Rescue and writes a monthly veterinary article in the Western Livestock Journal. She has 2 dogs - a Border Collie (Sailor) and Collie/Shepherd mix (Buster), and a Paint horse (Cheyenne) who she is training in barrel racing and reining techniques. More Details >>
