Dr. Ben Narynski
Chief of Staff
Dr. Ben Narynski grew up in Australia but graduated from Massey University in New Zealand. He enjoys the variety that veterinary medicine offers from preventive care to internal medicine to surgery. He was a preceptor for Western University vet students for 5 years, and continues to host and educate vet students today. He enjoys traveling which is what brought him to Southern California in 2007 when he joined Banfield. He has now served the pet community of Orange County for over 12 years.

Dr. Elana Young
Veterinarian
Dr. Elana Young grew up in Long Beach, CA, and went to undergraduate at UC San Diego where she majored in biology with a minor in business. She went to Kansas State University for veterinary school and graduated in May 2019 (go Wildcats!). She currently resides in Santa Ana with her two crazy tortie cats, Tiny and Tigana. In her free time, she enjoys playing rugby, spending time with her family, and traveling with her girlfriend.

Mairi Rico
Shift Lead
Mairi has been working for Banfield since 2017, and enjoys helping clients. She worked for many years at PetSmart so joining the veterinary field felt like a natural career change. One of her favorite parts of her job is getting to learn something new everyday in the world of animal medicine. Mairi is passionate about educating new clients with their new puppy or kitten, watching sick pets become healthy and strong, and providing support for her peers in any way she can. At home, she has a snuggly orange tabby named Henry, who she has had since 2009. Throughout her life, she has had all sorts of pets, from chickens to rodents and fish, all of which had been homeless or rescues. Mairi is ecstatic she has found a career that allows her to help care for people’s beloved pets.

Christin Tank, RVT
Shift Lead
Christin is a native of western NY having grown up in the Buffalo area. She graduated from Canisius College with a B.S. degree in management. After working in the travel industry for several years, she went back to school to focus on her true passion, animals and medicine. Christin earned an A.A.S. degree in veterinary technology and has been a credentialed technician since 2005. She has a passion for preventive care, dentistry, and nutrition. When not working, she enjoys visiting National Parks, scuba diving, skiing, and photography. Christin shares her home with her husband, daughter, and 3 dogs - Mocha, Millie, and Bodie.

Jessica Lee, RVT
Veterinary Technician
Jessica (Jess) has been with Banfield since January 2016. She graduated from Carrington University and received her license as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Jess brings a lot of skill to the team and helps train new employees to achieve high standards of care. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at home, and watching anime with her pets, a sweet pitbull named Rin and a rambunctious cat named Kuro (both named after one of her favorite animes).

Cerena Esquibel
Veterinary Assistant
Cerena has been with Banfield since 2017. She has had a passion to care for and help all types of animals since a young age, and is currently pursuing a license to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She then hopes to further her career in the veterinary field and be able to do more to help and care for animals. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at home and spending time with her two dogs, Boo and Pumbaa, as well as her cat, Hobo. Cerena also enjoys going to the beach, exploring nature, and traveling whenever she can.

Veterinary Assistant
Angelique (Angie) has worked at Banfield Santa Ana for the past 3 years as both a veterinary assistant and client service coordinator. She has loved animals her whole life and before working at Banfield, was both a guest educator at the Aquarium of the Pacific and a volunteer for various cat rescues. She recently graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a degree in literary journalism and is now working to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has a rambunctious hamster named Hodor and a lively dog named Coconut.

Damianne has been with Banfield since the summer of 2019. Since starting, she has become efficient with her Client Service Coordinator duties and has begun cross training as a Veterinary Assistant. She has also found a strong passion for the field and is considering studying to be a Registered Veterinary Technician.
