We are located on Mission Gorge Road between Friars Road and Zion Avenue, in the Vons shopping center and down the street from Qualcomm Stadium.     Dr. Katie Turner

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Turner grew up in Livermore, CA. She received her undergraduate degree in animal science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA in 2006 and her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA in 2010. Dr. Turner worked at Banfield in Brea/Orange County after graduation before moving to San Diego with her husband, Chris in 2013. She worked at the Banfield of San Diego on Murphy Canyon Road before moving to the Banfield in Mission Gorge. Dr. Turner enjoys family activities with their 2 boys at the San Diego Zoo, Little Italy's Saturday morning Farmer's Market, and taking the dogs to the beach. She loves cooking, going out to eat, and enjoys the company of family and friends. She looks forward to running into clients and pets around town, and is excited to develop a sense of community with the Banfield of Mission Gorge and surrounding neighborhoods! More Details >>

    Dr. Brittany Cassidy


    Dr. Cassidy grew up in West Palm Beach, Fl. She received her undergraduate degree in biology at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton in 2011 and her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona in 2016. Dr. Cassidy started off as a client service coordinator with Banfield in 2009 and worked her way up to a veterinary technician before attending veterinary school. She and her husband, Eddie, live in San Diego with their two Chihuahuas, Reecie and Ripkin. Dr. Cassidy loves spending time with her family, watching football, and going to the beach. She is excited to continue her journey with Banfield as a veterinarian and looks forward to building relationships with her clients and their furry friends. More Details >>

    Dr. Michael Dow


    Dr. Dow is from the Chicago area. He completed his bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, but eventually realized that his true passion was in clinical medicine. His DVM was completed at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Dr. Dow truly enjoys working in small animal medicine and working with owners to keep pets healthy and happy. He has a soft spot for bully breeds, and has owned and trained rottweiler dogs. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities and anything sports related.     Dr. Michelle Braunstein


    Dr. Braunstein is originally from northern Virginia and had a childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. She attended veterinary school at Ross University on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts, and after graduation and prior to joining Banfield, she completed a one year rotating internship at an emergency and specialty center outside of Washington, DC. Dr. Braunstein grew up with cats so she's particularly feline friendly, although she is very passionate about preventive care for both cats and dogs. She has one tortoiseshell calico cat at home named Romie. Outside of work, Dr. Braunstein enjoys running, hiking, singing, music and she loves the San Diego weather.     Kim Haworth, RVT

    Practice Manager

    Kim was born and raised in San Diego. She received her bachelor's degree in animal physiology and neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego in 2005 and started at Banfield Pet Hospital shortly after as a Pet Care Assistant. Kim received her Registered Veterinary Technician license and became a Practice Manager for Banfield in 2011. She enjoys developing and training associates and fellow Practice Managers through the San Diego market. She currently lives in San Diego with her husband, their young son CJ, a bearded dragon, a hamster and recently rescued a stray Maltese named Muffin. More Details >>
