Dr. Wesley Chen is from Southern California and has been interested in the veterinary field since high school when he volunteered at Downey Animal Shelter during his senior year. He received his undergraduate degree in animal science in 2012 from UC Davis and then spent a year volunteering and learning from the veterinarians at El Monte Dog and Cat Hospital. He then attended and graduated from Western University's DVM program. Dr. Chen is looking forward to developing his skills in practice, particularly dentistry and surgery. Dr. Renae Selzer graduated from Western University of Health Sciences Veterinary School in 2009. She is originally from Minnesota where she completed her undergraduate degree with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. She moved to California in 2005 to attend veterinary school and loved it so she decided to stay! Dr. Selzer has worked at Banfield in Fontana for the past 8 years and is excited to transfer to Apple Valley. Her professional interests include Internal medicine and dermatology, and she would love to learn about acupuncture and herbal medicine in the future. Dr. Selzer lives with her significant other, Brian, their 3 dogs, Zeus, Falkor, and Obi, and a chicken named Thunderbird. Dr. Hsieh grew up in Taiwan and moved to the U.S. when he started high school. He graduated from University of California, San Diego with a major in cell biology, biochemistry and psychology. After working in the biotech industry for some time, he realized he couldn't give up his dream of becoming a veterinarian. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences, and joined the Banfield Apple Valley team in July 2018. He is excited to meet everyone's pets! Brittany grew up in Southern California, and spent 8 years working in public education as an Elementary School Library Specialist before returning to college to pursue her passion in veterinary science. She graduated from Platt College in 2015 with a degree in Veterinary Technology, and started with Banfield as a student extern prior to graduation. She was brought on as part of the Banfield Apple Valley team shortly after her externship, and has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 2015. Her professional interests include emergency/critical care and dermatology. Brittany lives with her husband and son in the San Bernardino mountains. Their crazy family includes 3 dogs (Blaze, Rocky and Elvira), 3 cats (Meowsy, Frankenstein and Taco), and a guinea pig (Taz).
