    Dr. Brett Earley

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Earley graduated from Auburn University in 2005, and completed 1 year private practice and surgery rotating internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialist in Greensboro, NC. He began working with Banfield in October 2006, and has special interests in internal medicine and ophthalmology. Dr. Earley is extremely passionate about helping pets have a lifetime with their owners through preventive care. His preventive care focus is heartworm disease education and prevention, and his favorite preventive care quote is "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!"     Veterinarian

    Dr. Bentley graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and began working at Banfield in 2016. She is passionate about thorough preventive care to help the longest and healthiest life possible for your pet. She also encourages enhancing the human-animal bond through fun activities like training classes and agility.     Dr. Melissa Lehman

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Lehman graduated summa cum laude with honors from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. She began working with Banfield in Virginia after graduation, and moved to Hoover in June 2018 with her husband for his anesthesiology residency at UAB. While Dr. Lehman enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, she is especially interested in soft tissue surgery, exotic animal medicine, and dermatology. Her preventive care focus is being a strong proponent for spaying and neutering, which can prevent a multitude of health issues for pets and counters pet overpopulation. Dr. Lehman and her husband have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Ballberts that they enjoy taking for walks around their neighborhood and exploring local hiking trails together.     Locum Veterinarian

    Dr. Houston graduated from Tuskegee University in 2007 and began working for Banfield in July 2007. She believes it is her responsibility to be the advocate for each pet and give pet owners the information they need to keep their companions healthy through preventive care. As a child Dr. Houston suffered from chronic ear infections, and knowing how painful these can be, lead her to become very passionate about assisting pets with Otitis Externa, or infections of the ear.     Practice Manager

    DeCarlo "Dee" White joined Banfield Pet Hospital and team Hoover as Practice Manager in November of 2013. After spending 20 years in retail, she wanted to find a place that would provide her the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. Everyday she has the opportunity "to do what she does best" - educate clients on the importance of preventive care, take care of her team, assist in providing an exceptional client service experience and play with kittens and puppies all day! She graduated from the Penn Foster veterinary assistant program in 2013, and is currently enrolled in the veterinary technician program at Penn Foster with plans to graduate in 2019.     Becca has been with Banfield since 2013, and graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. She transferred from Florida to Alabama with her family in January 2017 and joined the Hoover team. Becca is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster veterinary technician program to continue her education. She loves being able to educate clients and provide remarkable customer service.     Veterinary Technician

    Nicole graduated from Median School of Allied Health Careers (now known as Vet Tech Institute) in Pittsburgh, PA in 2004 with an Associate's degree of Applied Sciences geared towards Veterinary Technology. She has been the Shift Lead and Lead Veterinary Technician since 2011, and has been with the Hoover location since 2008. She is a huge advocate of preventive care and enjoys client education. She is a 2017 graduate of Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal, poultry, and veterinary sciences. She hopes to attend veterinary school soon with aspirations to become a small and large animal veterinary pathologist. Her hobbies are singing and volunteering with horses.     Sue Ellen is originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She has spent 20 years tending to large animals before moving to Hoover in 2015. She has extensive experience pertaining to search/rescue and dog training while having 2 service dogs at home. She is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster veterinary technician program, and has a soft spot for all animals and is a big advocate for the adoption of shelter pets.
