Dr. Laura Macedonia
Chief of Staff
Dr. Macedonia lived all over the world before the Army moved her father to Redstone Arsenal in 2000. After her father retired in 2002, her family settled in Madison, Alabama where she attended Bob Jones High School. She obtained her bachelor's degree in animal science from Auburn University in 2011 and graduated from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2015. During her time at Auburn, Dr. Macedonia served as the Banfield campus ambassador and participated in Banfield's SJP and Externship programs. She has been working as an Associate Veterinarian in both the Decatur and Huntsville locations since June 2015. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Macedonia enjoys traveling and spending time with her Yorkshire terrier, Charlie.

Dr. Anna Drake
Veterinarian
Dr. Drake is originally from Jackson, MS and a recent resident of Alabama. She earned her bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Mississippi State University in 2011 and then graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. While in vet school, Dr. Drake was selected as a student ambassador to give tours on campus and represent the vet school at state legislative luncheons. Since graduating from vet school, Dr. Drake worked for Banfield in Jackson, MS before transferring to the Decatur hospital in January of 2018. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and dog, Rooney, volunteering, and watching football.

Shayla Butler
Practice Manager
Shayla started as a client with Banfield when she adopted a husky named Dakota in 2013. She has a background in education but in 2015, realized she needed to follow her true passion of working with animals. She joined Banfield in April 2015 as a client service coordinator and moved through the ranks throughout the years. As she was promoted, she also moved to many different hospitals including Acworth, Georgia and landing to her new home here in Decatur. In 2018, Shayla became our practice manager. She has a strong passion for working with pets and assisting to help keep them healthy. In her free time, she loves caring for her two dogs (Dakota and Bella), and a wonderful rescue cat, whom she nursed back to health, Felix. Shayla is so happy to be here and to meet all of your pets!

Hans-Noel Corbett
Shift Lead
Hans grew up in Merritt Island, Florida and moved to the Tennessee Valley in 2008. He formally studied animal science specializing in pre-veterinary sciences at the University of Tennessee at Martin, and is currently working on becoming a veterinarian specializing in marine life. Hans joined the Banfield team in early 2018 as a veterinary assistant and moved to join our Decatur team as our shift lead in mid 2019. He still uses his free time to volunteer in large animal medical husbandries in the Tennessee Valley. Hans loves animals, including his multiple horses, dogs, cats, cows, snakes, mice, aquatic pets, and his wonderful ferret. He has a high dedication to assist in your pet's health, and loves giving them all the attention they deserve along the way!

Kami King
Veterinary Assistant
Kami has been part of Banfield since 2008 and she has 3 dogs, Lycan (a toy poodle), Quazzi (a shih-tzu), and Kaylee (also a shih-tzu). Originally from Tampa, Kami has spent the last 10 years calling Alabama 'home'. She loves puppies and enjoys educating pet parents about the importance of preventive care. As a full-time college student, she doesn't have much spare time. However, if she does, she'll usually spend it swimming or attending Zumba classes.

Evelina Sundstrom
Veterinary Assistant
Evelina is originally from Lithuania, but grew up in the frozen tundras of Minnesota where her passion for animals began. Over the years, she has worked with various animals ranging from dogs and cats, to horses and some exotic zoo animals. Evelina moved to Alabama in 2017 with her husband; 4 dogs: Diesel (a Great Dane), Lou (a Labrador retriever), Maximus (a pitbull/lab mix), and Zoey (a miniature Aussie); 4 cats: Bean, Tigger, Naked, and Blue; 5 snakes; 6 Parakeets; a Sulcata tortoise named Fred; and a black and white tegu named toothless. She started at Banfield in July of 2017 and is currently studying to become a veterinary technician. When not meeting clients and getting to help pets, she loves spending time outdoors or doing photography.

Rebecca Bott
Veterinary Assistant
Rebecca was born in Kiel, Germany and did most of her growing up in the Huntsville/Madison area. She began her journey at a local veterinary practice as a veterinary assistant in 2018, and joined our Banfield team in mid 2019. Rebecca is currently studying at Penn Foster to become a licensed veterinary technician. She loves animals and at home, has two dogs, Echo and Eva, and four cats, Cato, Bugs, Oliver, and Missy. Rebecca has a wonderful passion to assist in your pet's health, and she cannot wait to see you all soon!

Elizabeth grew up in Shelbyville, Tennessee and moved to Huntsville around 2007. She has been part of the Banfield team since 2017. She loves owls, as well as her two Lab/collie dogs and a bearded dragon. Elizabeth LOVES meeting new pets, and is super excited to meet yours!
